Declaring Ponui Subdivision of Auckland Oyster-fishery.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS it is, amongst other things, enacted by the fifteenth section of “The Sea-fisheries Act, 1894,” that the Governor may from time to time declare any bay, estuary, or tidal waters in the Dominion to be an oyster-fishery, and prescribe the subdivisions thereof wherein it shall be lawful and unlawful to take oysters:

And whereas by Warrant under the hand of the Governor, dated the eleventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-fourth day of the same month, the Auckland Oyster-fishery was declared and divided into subdivisions:

And whereas it is desirable to alter the South-eastern Subdivision and to declare the Ponui Subdivision:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby alter the South-eastern Subdivision of the Auckland Oyster-fishery by excluding therefrom the Island of Ponui and all the bays, estuaries, and tidal waters thereof, and doth hereby declare the following subdivision, viz.:

The Ponui Subdivision, which shall include the Island of Ponui and all the bays, estuaries, and tidal waters thereof.

And in exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the third section of the Sea-fisheries Act, 1907, His Excellency the Governor doth hereby declare that the Ponui Subdivision of the Auckland Oyster-fishery aforesaid is set apart for the picking of oysters under the last-mentioned Act.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-seventh day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eight.

Appointment of a Member of the Conciliation Board, Nelson Industrial District.

WHEREAS the Registrar is satisfied that the industrial unions of employers (being the electing authorities) have failed to elect a member of the Board of Conciliation in and for the Industrial District of Nelson, in place of Herbert H. Johnston, resigned:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1905,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

THOMAS MEALE, Merchant, Nelson,

to be a member of the said Board, representing the employers, for the residue of the term of the said Herbert H. Johnston.

Trustees for the Hukerenui South Public Cemetery appointed.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to have the control and management of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

William Alexander Kerr, Thomas Hedley, Oliver Cotterill, John Broomfield, and Edwin William Davey. HUKERENUI SOUTH.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres, more or less, being Section No. 22, Block X, Hukerenui Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by a public road, towards the east and south by Section No. 22A, and towards the west by Section No. 9; as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1506, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-eighth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eight.
