Exchanging a Police Reserve in the Town of Kawhia, Auckland Land District, for other Land.
PLUNKET, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of July, 1908.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the first column of the Schedule hereto was permanently reserved for police purposes: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to exchange the said land for that described in the second column of the Schedule hereto: Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that the said reserve described in the first column of the Schedule hereto is hereby exchanged for the land described in the second column of the Schedule hereto.

Vesting a Reserve in the Hampden Borough Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of July, 1908.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto has been duly set apart for public-recreation purposes: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said reserve in the Hampden Borough Council: Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Hampden Borough, in trust, for public-recreation purposes.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods, more or less, being Sections Nos. 11 and 17 to 22 inclusive, Block II, Town of Hampden; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 47347/20A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Removing Restrictions against Alienation of Native Land.
PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS by section fourteen of “The Maori Land Laws Amendment Act, 1903,” it is enacted that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any Act, or in any Crown grant or other instrument of title, the Governor may, on the recommendation of the Board, remove any restriction on the alienation of land owned by Maoris: Provided that the decision of the Governor on any recommendation of the Board shall be given within six months from the date of the receipt of such recommendation: And whereas the Aotea District Maori Land Board, by a recommendation made and passed by the said Board on the nineteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eight, and received on the twenty-sixth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eight, recommended the Governor to remove and revoke the restrictions against alienation contained in the instrument of title of the block of land more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, so far as to permit the said land to be mortgaged to the Government Advances to Settlers Office: Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon and vested in me by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities me thereunto enabling, and in accordance with the recommendation of the Aotea District Maori Land Board aforesaid, do hereby remove and revoke the restrictions now existing against the alienation of the said land, so far as to permit the same to be mortgaged as aforesaid.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land, situate in the Wangaehu Survey District, containing 685 acres 1 rood 20 perches, more or less, known as Omurihore No. 3, and comprised in an order of the Native Land Court dated the 14th day of September, 1894, and being part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Vol. 84, folio 94, of the Register-book of the Wellington District, containing the restriction that, “except with the consent of all the registered proprietors, the land comprised therein is inalienable by sale, or by lease for any term above twenty-one years, in possession, and not in reversion, without premium or forfeit, and without covenant for a right of renewal or right of purchase.”
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this seventeenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eight.
