THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
Wairau and the Opawa Rivers to the easternmost corner of Section No. 32, Cloudy Bay Survey District ; thence by a right line across the said Wairau River in continuation of the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 32 aforesaid; thence again towards the north-east by the north bank of the last-mentioned river to its mouth; thence by the ocean to the mouth of the Awatere River; thence towards the south-east and south-west by the Awatere Road District to the confluence of a tributary of the Taylor River with the Taylor River at the base of the hill called "the Maori”; thence again towards the south-west and towards the west by the eastern side of the Taylor Pass Road to its junction with the road between Sections Nos. 28 and 48, Taylor Pass Survey District ; thence again towards the north by Section No. part 4 of 28; thence again towards the west by a road fronting the last-mentioned section and Sections Nos. part 1 of 28 and part 3 of 28, aforesaid survey district; thence across a road and by Sections Nos. part 1 of 8 and part 2 of 8 to the north-eastern corner of the latter section; thence towards the south and west generally by the Wairau Road District to the confluence of the Wairau and the Opawa Rivers, .the place of commencement : excepting from the above-described area the Borough of Blenheim; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st days of February and August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
And notice is hereby also given that the said resolution will be submitted to a special meeting of the said Board to be held at the office of the Board, situate in High Street, Blenheim, on Wednesday, the 24th day of June, 1908, at 10 a.m., for confirmation as a special order.

I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made at a special meeting of the Omaka Road Board held on the 26th day of May, 1908, and confirmed at a subsequent special meeting held on the 24th day of June, 1908. And that by resolution of the Board passed on the 7th day of July, 1908, it was resolved that the above special order is in substitution for the special order irregularly made for the same purpose on the 9th day of December, 1907, and which latter special order appears in the New Zealand Gazette of the 9th day of January, 1908, page 99, and that such latter special order be revoked.

THE following special order, made by the Kaiapoi Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901.”

KAIAPOI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.
THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901,” the said Kaiapoi Borough Council resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on the loan of £3,000, authorised to be raised by the said Kaiapoi Borough Council, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act, for the payment of the cost of constructing, providing, establishing, and equipping acetylene gasworks in the said Borough of Kaiapoi, the said Kaiapoi Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 4½d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property situate within the boundaries of the Borough of Kaiapoi; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The above resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Kaiapoi Borough Council held on the 26th day of May, 1908, and confirmed at a special meeting of the said Council held on the 30th day of June, 1908.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901,” the said Kaiapoi Borough Council resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the loan of £4,000 at 3½ per centum per annum for a period of forty-one years, authorised to be raised by the Kaiapoi Borough Council, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Act, for the payment of the cost of kerbing, channelling, and asphaltiing in the said Borough of Kaiapoi, the said Kaiapoi Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3½d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable valuation of all rateable property situated within the boundaries of the Borough of Kaiapoi; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
