and 28 to the Ellerslie-Panmure Road; thence across that road and by the western side of College Road to the southernmost corner of Section No. 26A; thence by a right line to the middle of the said College Road; and thence by a line along the middle of that road to the place of commencement: excepting from the above-described area the lands and highways comprised within the boundaries of the Township of Panmure, excepting so much of the main road, called or known by the name of the Panmure and Howick Road, as traverses the said township.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work, to wit, for the purposes of a public cemetery in the Tahora Block 2F, Section 2, Block VII, Tuahu Survey District:
And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown:
And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the said land, as required by the eighty-ninth section of “The Public Works Act, 1905”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by the eighty-ninth section of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the land shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the purposes of the said public cemetery; and the said land shall vest in His Majesty the King as from the twenty-third day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eight.

The Public Service Classification Act, 1907.—Extension of Time for the Employment of certain Temporary Officers of the Department of Tourist and Health Resorts.

WHEREAS by subsection two of section sixteen of the Public Service Classification Act, 1907 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor may, by Order in Council, in any case in which he considers that the public interest so requires, authorise the temporary employment of any person or any class of persons for a longer period than is permitted by subsection one of the said section sixteen:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient that, in respect of the hereinafter-mentioned classes of persons employed in the Department of Tourist and Health Resorts, the period of temporary employment should be extended from six months to three years:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorise the temporary employment of the persons employed in the Department of Tourist and Health Resorts included in the classes set out in the Schedule hereto for three years in lieu of six months.

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS, there being no Harbour Board empowered to grant the license hereinafter mentioned, John Duncan, of the Grove, Thomas Cawte and William John Cullen, both of Mahakipawa, as trustees for the settlers of the Grove, Queen Charlotte Sound (hereinafter called “the trustees”), have applied to the Governor in Council for a license under “The Harbours Act Amendment Act, 1883” (hereinafter called “the said Act”), to occupy a part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark in Queen Charlotte Sound, in order to erect and maintain thereon a shed; and, in accordance with the one-hundred-and-fifty-sixth section of “The Harbours Act, 1878,” have deposited a plan in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington (marked M.D. 3185) showing the place where it is intended to erect the same, and the area of foreshore and land below low-water mark intended to be occupied for such purpose; the position of the said shed being marked in black with a cross, alongside the wharf, as shown on the said plan M.D. 3185: And whereas it has been made to appear to the Governor in Council that the proposed work will not be or tend to the injury of navigation, and the said plan has, prior to the making of this Order in Council, been approved by the Governor in Council: And whereas it is expedient that a license under the said Act, for the purpose aforesaid, should be granted and issued to the trustees on the terms and conditions hereinafter expressed:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the purpose or object for which the said license is required by the trustees as aforesaid; and, in further pursuance and exercise of the said power and authority, and with the like advice and consent as aforesaid, doth hereby license and permit the trustees to use and occupy that part of the foreshore and land below low-water mark which is particularly shown and delineated on the plan so deposited as aforesaid, for the purpose of constructing or erecting thereon a shed; such license to be held and enjoyed by the trustees upon and subject to the following terms and conditions set forth in the First Schedule hereto.
