Change of Name of Borough of Hawksbury to Borough of Waikouaiti.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the Council of the Borough of Hawksbury has, by resolution adopted at an ordinary meeting thereof, requested that the name of that borough be altered from “Hawksbury” to “Waikouaiti”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by “The Designation of Districts Act, 1894,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the name of the borough now known as “Hawksbury” shall be and the same is hereby altered to “Waikouaiti,” and do assign the last-mentioned name to such borough accordingly; and also do hereby proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and nine, not being earlier than six months after the first publication thereof in the Gazette.

Reformatory Prison for the Detention of Habitual Criminals and Habitual Offenders proclaimed.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “The Habitual Criminals and Offenders Act, 1906,” it is enacted that the Governor may, by Proclamation published in the Gazette, set apart any prison or other suitable place to be a reformatory prison for the detention of habitual criminals and habitual offenders:
And whereas it is desirable to proclaim the east wing of the Prison at New Plymouth, in the Provincial District of Taranaki, to be a reformatory prison for the aforesaid purpose:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby declare that the said building shall be a reformatory prison for the detention of habitual criminals and habitual offenders from and after the appearance of this Proclamation in the Gazette.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this tenth day of June, 1908.

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Ellerslie Subdivision of the Mount Wellington Road District, in the County of Eden, has been severed from the said road district and constituted a town district under the Town Districts Acts, and in consequence thereof the existing boundaries of the said road district are as set forth in the Schedule hereto: And whereas by reason of the premises it is expedient to dissolve the Road Board of the said road district and to make provision for the election of a new Board:
And whereas the whole of “The Counties Act, 1886,” is not in operation in the said County of Eden:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers vested in him by “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” “The Counties Act, 1886,” and of all other powers thereunto enabling him, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that from and after the thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eight, the Road Board of the Mount Wellington Road District shall be dissolved; further, that the new Board thereof shall consist of five members; and, further, that the first election of five members of the new Board shall be conducted in accordance with “The Local Elections Act, 1904”; and doth also appoint Alex Bell to be the Clerk and the Returning Officer to conduct the said first election of members of the said new Board; and doth appoint Thursday, the ninth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eight, to be the day for holding such first election, and Wednesday, the fifteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and eight, at two o’clock in the afternoon, at the Public Hall, Panmure, to be the time and place for the first meeting of the new Board of the said road district.
SCHEDULE.
MOUNT WELLINGTON ROAD DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north generally by a right line from a point in the middle of College Road in line with the south-western boundary of Section No. 49, Parish of Waitemata, to the westernmost corner of that section; thence by the said Section No. 49, the north-western part of Section No. 50, and Section No. 57 to the Panmure Road; thence across that road, by Section No. 44, the crossing of a road, and Section No. 39, Parish of Waitemata aforesaid, to the Tamaki River; thence towards the east generally by the Tamaki River to the Otahuhu Creek; thence towards the south generally by the Otahuhu Creek and Manukau County to Manukau Harbour; thence towards the west generally by Manukau Harbour and Hamlin’s Creek to the Great South Road; thence by the Great South Road to the southernmost corner of Section No. 33, Parish of Waitemata; thence by the western boundaries of Sections Nos. 33
