- If any person shall commit a breach of any of the foregoing by-laws he shall be liable, upon conviction for such breach, to a penalty of £5: Provided that the Court before which proceedings may be taken in respect of such breach may, if it thinks fit, impose such lower penalty as it may think adequate to the particular case.
I do also hereby revoke the by-laws, dated the 19th August, 1902, regulating traffic on the said road as mentioned in the said by-laws.
SCHEDULE.
All that road in the Wellington Land District and Waimarino County, known as the Pipiriki-Waiouru Road, commencing at its junction with the Taheke Road, in the Township of Pipiriki, and proceeding in a north-easterly direction generally through the said Township of Pipiriki, Blocks X, XI, and XII, Rarote Survey District, Blocks IX, V, and VI, Makotuku Survey District, to its junction with Ameku Road; thence again from the right bank of the Makotuku Stream in the said Block VI, proceeding easterly generally through Block VII to the westernmost corner of Section 6; thence through the said Section 6, and abutting on Sections 5, 4, 3, and 2, all of Block VIII, Makotuku Survey District; thence past the Township of Ohakune; thence south-easterly generally to the north-western corner of Section 16, Block V, Karioi Survey District; thence through Blocks V, VI, and X, Karioi Survey District, to the Township of Karioi; thence proceeding south-easterly and north-easterly to the south of Trig. O, through Blocks XI and XII, Karioi Survey District; thence easterly and south-easterly through Block IX, Moawhango Survey District, to its junction with the Waiouru-Tokaanu Main Road, in the Township of Waiouru.

Port Albert Bar Buoy.
Mariners and others are hereby notified that it has been reported that the bar buoy at the entrance to the eastern channel leading to Port Albert has broken adrift, and will be replaced as soon as possible.

No. 10 Buoy, Dredged Cut, South Channel.
Referring to Notice to Mariners No. 5, dated 8th November, 1907, it is hereby notified that in order to complete the dredging of the southern side of the dredged cut at its western end, the westernmost gas buoy (No. 10), marking the southern edge of the cut, will be again shifted, on or after the 1st April, 1908, about 250 ft. to the westward, and will still mark the south side of the channel.

Port of Geelong.—Hopetoun Channel.
Referring to Notice to Mariners No. 1 of 1908,* masters of vessels, pilots, and others are hereby notified that the dredger “Thomas Bent” has been removed from the position mentioned therein, and will forthwith commence dredging at the eastern end of the channel, and in order to indicate the side upon which vessels navigating the channel are to pass the dredger, there will be exhibited (by day) a basket ball from the port or starboard side of the dredger, and (by night) two red lights in a vertical position not less than 6 ft. apart; also two anchor lights, one at the stem and one at the stern.
During the night and when a vessel is about to pass through the channel, the dredger will, when practicable, be hove over to either side of the line of beacons.
CAUTION.—Persons in charge of vessels navigating the channel must pass the dredger at the slowest possible speed, and must stop the engines whilst passing over the dredger’s chains.

Port of Geelong.
Referring to General Notice to Mariners dated the 1st August, 1907,* it is hereby notified that on or about 1st June, 1908, the black and white striped buoy moored about two cables S. 35 deg. W. from the Wilson Spit gas buoy will be removed, and will be replaced by a black can buoy.

REFERRING to New Zealand Notices to Mariners Nos. 29 of 1904 and 16 of 1905, and to “New Zealand Nautical Almanac,” 1908, page 182, it is hereby notified that on and after the 30th June next the eastern channel between Harrington Point and Black Head will be closed, and the buoys marking the same on the starboard hand removed.
