RESOLVED, That clauses 3, 4, and 12 be rescinded. That clause 2 be altered to read "Exceeding £12 10s., 5 per cent. per annum."

THE following special order, made by the Gonville Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901."

GONVILLE TOWN DISTRICT.
Special Order making Special Rate.
THAT the Gonville Town Board pass the following resolution (to operate as a special order) :—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901," the Gonville Town Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £7,000, authorised to be raised by the Gonville Town Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the following undertakings, that is to say—
(a.) The provision of a water-supply for the Gonville Town District by the laying of water-mains in the principal streets and roads in the said Gonville Town District, and the connection thereof with the water-mains of the Wanganui Borough water-supply system, or such other supply as may be decided on, and the provision of all appliances, plant, and things necessary or convenient for the efficient working and use of the said water-supply or incidental thereto, and for the extension thereof, for which purpose the sum of £3,000 is proposed to be borrowed;
(b.) The provision of a drainage system for the Gonville Town District by the laying of drainage-pipes in the principal streets and roads in the said Gonville Town District, and thence where required to the Wanganui River, and the provision of all appliances, plant, and things necessary or convenient for the efficient working and use of the said drainage system or incidental thereto, and for the extension thereof, for which purpose the sum of £3,000 is proposed to be borrowed;
(c.) General improvements to the roads and streets in the Gonville Town District, for which purpose the sum of £1,000 is proposed to be borrowed—
and to provide for the repayment of such loan by the establishment of a sinking fund during the currency of the said loan of 10s. per centum per annum on the amount for the time being of the said loan actually borrowed for or towards payment of such loan at its maturity, the said Gonville Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1 1/4d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Gonville Town District, comprising all that area in the Wellington Land District, situated in Block V, Westmere Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at the westernmost corner of Section No. 47, Balgownie Township; thence easterly by the southern side of the Heads Road to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 74; thence by a right line to the south-western corner of Section No. 79, Balgownie Extension; thence along the western boundary of that section to its north-western corner; thence by a right line to the south-western corner of Section No. 24, Matipo Township; thence along the south-western boundary of the said Matipo Township to the lagoon at the western corner of Section No. 51; thence along the southern and western sides of that lagoon and a stream to the Mosstown Road; thence along the eastern and southern sides of the Mosstown Road to the south-western boundary of the Borough of Wanganui; thence along the said south-western boundary of the Borough of Wanganui to the Wanganui River; thence along the northern bank of the Wanganui River to a point opposite the westernmost corner of Section No. 47, Balgownie Township; and thence by a right line to the said westernmost corner of Section No. 47, the place of commencement: and that such special rate be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of September and the 1st day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Gonville Town Board on the 1st day of April, 1908, and confirmed at a meeting of the said Board on the 6th day of May, 1908.
