Extending Hour for closing Poll at Election of Members of Spreydon Road Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this second day of May, 1908.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by “The Local Elections Act, 1904,” His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby extend the hour at which the poll for the election of members of the Spreydon Road Board, to be held and taken under “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” in the Spreydon Road District on the seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eight, shall close, to seven o'clock in the afternoon of the same day.

Validating the Public Notification of the Special Order in connection with the Loan of £300 applied for by the Clifton County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this second day of May, 1908.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Clifton County Council lately proposed to raise a loan of three hundred pounds, under “The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of forming a portion of the Clifton Road through Section 1a, Pukearuhe: And whereas the public notification of the special order making the special rate was published in the Waitara Evening Mail newspaper for four weeks, but was not published once in each week of the four weeks immediately preceding the date of the subsequent meeting at which the special order was confirmed, as required by section eleven of “The Counties Act Amendment Act, 1903”: And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity, and it is expedient to validate the said notification:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section ten of “The Local Bodies' Loans Amendment Act, 1902,” and acting by and with the consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that such public notification of the special order shall be deemed and taken to be as valid as though the said notification had been properly published, and that the proceedings relative to the said loan shall not be called in question by reason only of the aforesaid irregularity.

Declaring Portion of Pukenua Road, in the Rangitikei County, to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this second day of May, 1908.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, be a county road.


SCHEDULE.

PUKENAUA ROAD.

ALL that portion of road in the Wellington Land District, Rangitikei County, known as the Pukenua Road, commencing at the boundary of Sections 9 and 9A, Block XIII, Ohinewairua Survey District, and proceeding generally in a southerly direction, fronting Sections 9A, 17, 18, 19, and 27, Block XIII aforesaid, and terminating at the boundary between Sections 27 and 26, Block XIII, Ohinewairua Survey District, being a distance of 1 mile 18 chains, more or less; as the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 6523, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
