Banks Peninsula Rabbit-proof Fencing District.—Prescribing the Number of Ratepayers of which the Board of Trustees shall consist, and appointing the Returning Officer and the Day for the First Election of the Board.—Notice No. 1197.

PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS by section five and subsections one and two of section six of “The Rabbit-proof Wire-netting Fences Act, 1898” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that for every district constituted and declared a rabbit-proof fencing district for the purposes of the said Act there shall be a Board of Trustees (hereinafter called “the Board”), to consist of such number of ratepayers, being not less than three nor more than seven, as the Governor prescribes; that the Governor shall appoint a fit person to be the Returning Officer for the purposes of the first election of the Board; and that the Governor shall appoint the day for the first election of the Board:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby prescribe that the number of ratepayers of which the Board of Trustees for the Banks Peninsula Rabbit-proof Fencing District shall consist shall be seven; do hereby appoint Mr. Thomas Quealy, Clerk of the Little River Road Board, at Ataahua, to be the Returning Officer for the purposes of the first election of the Board; and do hereby appoint the twenty-second day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eight, to be the day for the first election of the Board.
