Special Orders made by the Council of the County of Raglan.

THE following special orders, made by the Raglan County Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Raglan County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorised to be raised by the Raglan County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of forming and metalling the road from Raglan to Maungatawhiri and from Maungatawhiri to Waitetuna—£1,000 of this amount to be spent in forming and metalling from Raglan to Maungatawhiri (in conjunction with a sum of £1,000 to be provided by the Karioi Riding for the same purpose), £1,450 to be spent in forming and metalling the road from Maungatawhiri to Mangaokahu, £250 to be spent in forming and metalling the road from Three Streams to Sweetman’s Corner via Okete, £100 to be spent in forming and metalling the Kauroa Road, and the balance of £200 to be spent in forming and metalling the Te Uku Landing Road—the said Raglan County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Whaingaroa Special-rating District.

The boundaries of the special-rating district are as follows: Commencing at the south-east corner of Section 139 of Block X, Karioi Survey District; thence along the county boundary to Trig. 29; thence along the southern boundaries of Sections 122, 61A, and 60 to the Waitetuna River, proceeding along that river to its junction with the Ohonga River, and following the Ohonga River to the north-east boundary of Section 167; thence north in a straight line to the southern boundary of Section 218, at its junction with the north-west boundary of Section 63, proceeding thence in a straight line to Trig. 35; thence along the northern boundary of Section 63 to its junction with the Whaingaroa Harbour; thence following around the harbour to the Opotoro Creek; thence to the south-east corner of Section 35 (following the boundaries of Subsections 5, 1, 3, 2, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 of Section 35, which are all in the Karioi Riding), running thence to the north-east corner of Section 34; thence proceeding along the eastern boundaries of Sections 34, 126, and 105, and thence along the northern boundaries of Sections 22 and 21; thence proceeding south along the east and north-eastern boundaries of Sections 21, 100, 140, 138, and 139 to point of commencement.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of July and the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, and the interest to be paid at the rate of 4 per cent. per annum, or until the loan is fully paid off; and it is the intention to pay out of loan cost of raising same and first year’s interest.

The above resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Raglan County Council held on the 27th day of November, 1907, and confirmed at a special meeting held on the 8th day of January, 1908.

The boundaries of the special-rating district are as follows: Commencing at the south-east corner of Section 139 of Block X, Karioi Survey District, and proceeding north along the east and north-east boundaries of Sections 139, 138, 140, 21; thence along the north boundary of Sections 21 and 22, and the east boundaries of Sections 105, 126, and 34; thence to the south-eastern corner of Section 35 (including the following subsections of Section 35, which are in the Karioi Riding—viz., 5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, of Section 35); thence following the northern boundaries of the above-mentioned subsections of Section 35 to the Opotoro Creek, and thence following the Opotoro Creek on its west side to its junction with the Harbour of Whaingaroa; thence running in a south-west and south direction along the coast-lines of Sections Papahua 5972, 15, North Middle and South 14, 3819, 129, 130, 2A, West 121, 120, 102A, 101, 113, 111, 96, 96A, 95, South 94, 93A, West and East 93, 92, 115, to the south-west corner of Section 116; thence in an easterly direction along the northern boundary of Section 6008 to Trig. 94; thence in a north-easterly direction along the county boundary to point of commencement.

Special Order made by the Council of the County of Patangata.

THE following special order, made by the Patangata County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

PATANGATA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order making Special Rate.—Loan of £6,000 for constructing a Bridge and Approaches over the Tukituki River at Tamumu.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Patangata County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £6,000, authorised to be raised by the Patangata County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of constructing a bridge and forming approaches thereto over the Tukituki River at Tamumu, the said Patangata County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3/8d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Tamumu Riding, in the County of Patangata, the boundaries of the said riding being described on page 1033 of the New Zealand Gazette No. 52, of the 10th September, 1885; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable annually on the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I, William White, Chairman of the Patangata County Council, do hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Patangata County Council held on the 5th day of December, 1907, and was duly confirmed at a meeting of the said County Council held on the 9th day of January, 1908.

In testimony whereof the common seal of the Patangata County Council has been hereunto affixed.
