Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable William Lee, Baron Plunket, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eight.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section thirteen of “The Land Act, 1892,” and its amendments, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consent of the owners of the lands mentioned in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Huntly Road Board, being the local authority in whose district the said lands are situated, proclaim as a road the lands in Hapuakohe Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid, proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto, which is not required by reason of the road first hereinbefore proclaimed.

Crown Lands temporarily reserved for Landless Natives in the Southland Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the third section of “The South Island Landless Natives Act, 1906,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, by Proclamation, declare that any Crown land shall, whether the same has been surveyed or not, be set aside temporarily for the purpose of providing land for landless Natives in the South Island, and that notice of all such temporary reservations shall be published in the Kahiti:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Crown lands in the Southland Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written are hereby set aside temporarily for the purpose of providing land for landless Natives in the South Island.


SCHEDULE.

FOREST HILL AND HOKONUI BLOCKS.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by estimation 13,780 acres, situated in Blocks LIV, LXI, LXII, LXIII, Hokonui Survey District, and Blocks X, XI, XII, XVI, and XVII, Forest Hill Hundred. Commencing at the south-western corner of Section No. 802, Hokonui District; bounded thence by said Section No. 802 and Sections Nos. 799, 840, 841, the Lora Stream, and part Run 119B to the southern boundary-line of Hokonui District; thence by that boundary-line to the north-western corner of Run 494; thence by a line due south to Section No. 133, Forest Hill Hundred; thence by that section and Sections Nos. 221, 169, 54, and 325 to a public road; thence by that road and by Sections Nos. 364, 365, 166, 363, 360, 359, 220, and 357 to a public road; thence by that road and by the southern and eastern boundaries of Section No. 370 to another public road; thence by that road and Sections Nos. 330, 353, 334, 225, 351, and a public road to the southern boundary-line of Hokonui District; thence by that line to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 830 of the said district; thence by that section, a public road, and Sections Nos. 829, 817, 822, 666, and 667 to the commencing-point.

All that area in the Southland Land District, containing by estimation 3,040 acres, being all the unsurveyed land in Blocks IV, V, and IX, Forest Hill Hundred, excepting that portion lying to the south-east of a line joining the north-eastern corner of Section No. 68 to the north-western corner
