NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto
existing between the undersigned, trading as “Sheehy
and Kelleher,” and carrying on business as Livery-stable
Keepers at the Rink Stables, Moray Place, Dunedin, has
been dissolved as from the twenty-fourth day of February,
one thousand nine hundred and eight, and that all debts
due to the late firm, and all accounts owing by the said firm,
will be paid by the said John Sheehy.
Dated this twenty-seventh day of February, one thousand
nine hundred and eight.

In the matter of the Glen Dhu Timber Company (Limited).
AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of
the above-named company, duly convened, and held
at the registered office of the company, No. 51 Crawford
Street, Dunedin, on the 27th day of February, 1908, the
following extraordinary resolution was duly passed :—
“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this
meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its lia-
bilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to
wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be
wound up voluntarily.”
And at the same meeting Septimus Edward Brent, of
Dunedin, Accountant, was appointed Liquidator for the
purposes of such winding-up.

THE SOUTH BRITISH FIRE AND MARINE IN-
SURANCE COMPANY OF NEW ZEALAND.
SPECIAL RESOLUTION.
Passed 12th February, 1908. Confirmed 29th February, 1908.
AT an extraordinary general meeting of the South
British Fire and Marine Insurance Company of New
Zealand, duly convened, and held at Auckland on the 12th
day of February, 1908, the subjoined special resolution was
duly passed ; and at a subsequent extraordinary general
meeting of the said company, also duly convened, and held
at the same place on the 29th day of February, 1908, the
subjoined special resolution was duly confirmed :—
“That, for the purpose of completing the reconstruction
of the company, the company be wound up voluntarily ; and
that John Henry Upton, of Auckland, and James Kirker,
also of Auckland, be and they are hereby appointed Liquid-
ators for the purposes of such winding-up.”

and of “The Rating on Unimproved Value Act, 1896,”
and the Acts amending the same respectively.
I HEREBY give notice that on the 27th day of February,
1908, a proposal was submitted to the ratepayers of the
Borough of New Brighton for adopting the Unimproved
Rating Act, 1896, in the said borough, and that the number
of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal

FORD, Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of
England, and Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians
of London, now residing in Auckland, hereby give notice
that I intend applying on the 3rd of April, 1908, to have
my name placed on the Medical Register for the Dominion
of New Zealand, and that I have deposited the evidence of
my qualification in the office of the Registrar at Auckland.

SCHOOL FOR DEAF-MUTES, SUMNER, NEAR
CHRISTCHURCH.
Under the control and supervision of the Education
Department.
Director: Mr. J. E. Stevens.
FOR Deaf Children of sound intellect. The pupils are
taught to use and understand ordinary speech. The
full charge for board and education is £40 a year, but
less is accepted from parents who cannot afford to pay
this amount. In case of necessity admission is free.
By the Education Act, the education of deaf children
between the ages of 7 and 16 is made compulsory. A child
is, as a rule, best fitted to begin the school course at about
the age of 6, but advice should be obtained as soon as any
sign of deafness is observed.
The following classes of deaf children are admitted :
- Children born deaf, or who have lost their hear-
ing before learning to speak. - Children who can hear a little, but are too deaf
to be taught in an ordinary school. - Children who have lost their hearing after having
learned to speak.
Parents and other persons acquainted with such cases
above the age of 4 are invited to communicate with the
Director, or with
