Notice of Half-holiday (for Boys under Eighteen Years of Age and Women) in the Borough of Oamaru under the Factories Act Amendment Act, 1907, Section 15.
WHEREAS a poll of the electors of the Borough of Oamaru has been taken on a proposal that the weekly half-holiday provided for by section 33 of “The Factories Act, 1901,” should be allowed in that borough on the same day as the day appointed as the statutory closing-day for shops in that borough: And whereas a majority of the votes given at such poll were in favour of the said proposal:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of subsection (2) of section 15 of the Factories Act Amendment Act, 1907, I, James McGowan, acting for and on behalf of the Minister of Labour, hereby give notice that on and after the 1st day of March, 1908, the half-holiday (for boys under eighteen years of age and women) under “The Factories Act, 1901.” shall be allowed in the Borough of Oamaru on the same day as that appointed from time to time as the statutory closing-day for shops in the said borough, instead of on Saturday.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Drapers and Clothiers’ Shops in the Borough of New Plymouth under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the drapers and clothers shops in the Borough of New Plymouth, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed at 6.30 in the evening on four working-days in the week, and at 9.30 p.m. on Saturday in

each week, excepting during the week preceding Christmas Eve, when the hour of closing shall be left to the option of the tradespeople: And whereas the New Plymouth Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in the trades mentioned in the borough:
Now, therefore, I, James McGowan, acting for and on behalf of the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 21 of “The Shop and Offices Act, 1904,” and section 5 of “The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905,” do hereby direct that from and after the 2nd day of March, 1908, all the shops in the trades mentioned in the Borough of New Plymouth shall be closed in accordance with such requisition. (The weekly half-holiday is on Thursday.)

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Grocers and Storekeepers’ Shops in the Borough of New Brighton under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the grocers and storekeepers’ shops in the Borough of New Brighton, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed at 7 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, on Wednesdays at 1 p.m., and on Saturdays at 10 p.m. during the months of March, April, May, June, July, and August; and on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 9 p.m., on Wednesdays at 1 p.m., on Saturdays at 10 p.m. during the months of September, October, November, December, January, and February; except on the evening preceding a day generally observed as a public holiday, when the hour shall be 10 p.m.: And whereas the Borough Council of New Brighton has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the grocers and storekeepers' shops within the borough:
Now, therefore, I. James McGowan, acting for and on behalf of the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 21 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904,” and section 5 of “The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905,” do hereby direct that from and after the 2nd day of March, 1908, all grocers and storekeepers' shops in the Borough of New Brighton shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the booksellers and stationers’ shops in the Borough of Hamilton, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the said borough shall be closed at 6 o’clock on each evening, excepting Wednesdays and Saturdays: And whereas the Hamilton Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the booksellers and stationers’ shops within the borough:
Now, therefore, I. James McGowan, acting for and on behalf of the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 21 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904,” and section 5 of “The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905,” do hereby direct that from and after the 2nd day of March, 1908, all booksellers and stationers’ shops in the Borough of Hamilton shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.
