A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the fourteenth
day of October, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-four, and published in the Gazette of the sixteenth
day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four,
the importation of apples and pears infected with codlin-
moth was prohibited: And whereas it has been deemed
desirable to revoke the said Proclamation:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, Governor
of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers
conferred by “The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882,”
and by all other authorities enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby revoke the said Proclamation as from the twenty-
seventh day of February, one thousand nine hundred and
eight.

Native Land in Arapawa Survey District taken for Scenery-
preservation Purposes.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-
ninth day of January, 1908.
Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto
is Native land and is required to be taken for
scenery-preservation purposes:
And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native
owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown:
And whereas a map of the said land has been prepared in
duplicate, as required by the eighty-ninth section of “The
Public Works Act, 1905”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers
vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of all
other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His
Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby proclaim and
declare that the land shown upon such map, and described
in the Schedule hereto, is hereby taken for scenery-preser-
vation purposes as aforesaid; and the said land shall vest in
His Majesty the King as from the sixth day of March,
one thousand nine hundred and eight.
