Native Land in Tauakira and Waipakura Survey Districts taken for Scenery-preservation Purposes.
PLUNKET, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighteenth day of February, 1908.
Present :
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is Native land and is required to be taken for scenery-preservation purposes :
And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown :
And whereas a map of the said land has been prepared in duplicate, as required by the eighty-ninth section of “The Public Works Act, 1905” :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby proclaim and declare that the land shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule hereto, is hereby taken for scenery-preservation purposes as aforesaid; and the said land shall vest in His Majesty the King as from the twenty-seventh day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eight.

Appointing Returning Officer and Polling-places for First Election of Members of Wairau Harbour Board, and Day for such Election.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth day of February, 1908.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS it is enacted by the sixth section of the Wairau Harbour Board Act, 1907, that the Governor may, by Order in Council gazetted, appoint a Returning Officer and polling-places for the purpose of the first election of members under the said Act, and a day for such election :
And whereas it is desirable to do so :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint
John Smith, Esquire, of Blenheim,
to be Returning Officer; the Blenheim Borough Council Chambers, Blenheim, Mrs. Draper’s residence, Springlands, and the Public Hall, Renwicktown, to be polling-places; and Wednesday, the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eight, to be the day, for the first election of members of the Wairau Harbour Board under the said Act.

WHEREAS the Kawhia County Council has applied to the Minister of Finance, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901” (hereinafter called “the said Act”), and its amendments, for a loan of two thousand five hundred pounds for the purpose of widening and metalling the Awaroa-Mahoe Road : And whereas the voting-paper used at the poll of ratepayers taken under the provisions of the said Act upon the proposal to raise the said loan on the twenty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and six, was not in accordance with the Form No. 1 in the Schedule to “The Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment
