I, John Wesley Reed, of Naseby, the Legal Manager of the Hit-or-Miss Water-race Company (Registered), do solemnly and sincerely declare that this is a true and complete statement, as far as I am able to compile it from the books of the company, of the affairs of the said company on the 31st December, 1907; and I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of "The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882."

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A BRANCH RACE.

PURSUANT to “The Mining Act, 1905,” the undersigned, John Butler, of Bald Hill Flat, Farmer, hereby applies for a license for a branch race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Date and number of miner's right : 24th January, 1908 ; No. 66865.

Address for service : Care of J. R. Bartholomew, Solicitor, Alexandra.

Dated at Alexandra, this 24th day of January, 1908.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Situate at Bald Hill Flat, commencing in applicant’s water-race, License No. 881A, in Mrs. Rahill’s freehold, being part Section 39, and thence to a point in applicant’s freehold, being other part of Section 39.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for : 7 p.m., 23rd January, 1908.

Length and intended course of race : 5 chains ; east and west.

Points of intake : One.

Estimated time and cost of construction : Already constructed.

Mean depth and breadth : 1 ft. by 2 ft.

Number of heads to be carried : Three.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Irrigation.

Proposed term of license : Forty-two years.
