FEILDING BOROUGH COUNCIL.
I, WILLIAM JAMES BENJAMIN TREWIN, Mayor of the Borough of Feilding, hereby certify that the Feilding Borough Council have by special order passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Council of the Borough of Feilding held on the 21st day of December, 1907, duly authorised the raising of a special loan of £800 for the completion of the Borough of Feilding Abattoir under section 5 of “The Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900.”

HUNTLY ROAD BOARD.
Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
I HEREBY give notice, under section 13 of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” that at a poll of the ratepayers of the proposed Matahuru Special-rating District held, under the provisions of the above-named Act, at the Matahuru No. 2 School on Friday, the 31st January, 1908, on the proposal of the Huntly Road Board to raise the sum of £6,000 for the purpose of improving the roads in the Matahuru portion of the Huntly Road District, the following votes were recorded: For the proposal, 43; against the proposal, 13.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Gore, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

GORE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the several Acts amending the same.
I HEREBY give notice that on the 29th day of January, 1908, proposals were submitted to the ratepayers of the Borough of Gore by the Gore Borough Council for raising special loans for the following purposes—that is to say, £3,000 for water-supply extension, £2,500 for electric light alteration and extension; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the separate proposals was as follows:—
Water-supply extension, £3,000: For, 128; against, 199; informal, 17.
Electric light, £2,500: For, 149; against, 183; informal, 12.
And I therefore declare the said proposals to be rejected.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Ironmongers’, Grocers’, Drapers’, Tailors’, Clothiers’, Boot-dealers’, and General Storekeepers’ Shops in the Borough of Waihi under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of each of all the ironmongers’, grocers’, drapers’, tailors’, clothiers’, boot-dealers’, and general storekeepers’ shops in the Borough of Waihi, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough shall be closed at 6 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; and at 9.30 p.m. on Saturday in each week: And whereas the Waihi Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the trades mentioned in the borough:
Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 21 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904,” and section 5 of “The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905,” do hereby direct that from and after the 17th day of February, 1908, all the shops in the trades mentioned in the Borough of Waihi shall be closed in accordance with such requisition. (The weekly half-holiday is Wednesday.)

Notice of Half-holiday (for Boys under Eighteen Years of Age and Women) in the Town District of Hunter ville under the Factories Act Amendment Act, 1907, Section 15.
WHEREAS a poll of the electors of the Hunter ville Town District has been taken on a proposal that the weekly half-holiday provided for by section 33 of “The Factories Act, 1901,” should be allowed in that town district on the same day as the day appointed as the statutory closing-day for shops in that town district: And whereas a majority of the votes given at such poll were in favour of the said proposal:
Now, in pursuance of the provisions of subsection (2) of section 15 of the Factories Act Amendment Act, 1907, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of Labour, hereby give notice that on and after the 17th day of February, 1908, the half-holiday (for boys under eighteen years of age and women) under “The Factories Act, 1901,” shall be allowed in the Hunter ville Town District on the same day as that appointed from time to time as the statutory closing-day for shops in the said town district, instead of on Saturday.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Tobacconists’ Shops in the Borough of Palmerston North under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the tobacconists’ shops in the Borough of Palmerston North, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all tobacconists’ shops in the borough shall be closed at the hour of 6.30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and at the hour of 10 p.m. on Saturdays, with the exception of Spring Show week, and from 23rd December to 31st December inclusive; the hour of closing on the above-mentioned dates to be 10 p.m.; and that on the eve of any special holiday, in pursuance of section 16, the hour of closing to be at 8.30 p.m.: And whereas the Borough Council of Palmerston North has certified that the signatures to such requisition of tobacconists represent the total number of the occupiers of all tobacconists’ shops within the Borough of Palmerston North:
Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 21 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904,” and section 5 of “The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905,” do hereby direct that from and after the 17th day of February, 1908, all tobacconists’ shops in the Borough of Palmerston North shall be closed in accordance with such requisition. (The weekly half-holiday is on Wednesday, from 1 o’clock in the afternoon.)
