No. 25227.—18th November, 1908.—KARL HEINRICH WIMMER, of Holzhafen, Bremen, Germany, Manufacturer. Process for preparing coffee free from caffeine.
Claim.—(1.) The process for obtaining coffee-beans free from caffeine, which consists in treating the green coffee-beans with moist heat until the external layer down to the dark central line existing in green coffee-beans has assumed a dark colour, then subjecting the beans to extraction with solvents for caffeine, and finally treating them with steam and drying them, substantially as described.
