No. 25146.—29th October, 1908.—JOHN FOSTER STEPHENSON, of Haines Street, Glenferrie, Victoria, Australia, Engineer. Improvements in spring mattresses.
Claims.—(1.) In spring mattresses, in combination, means for retaining the wire portion in a taut condition consisting of a movable transverse member as c, stationary members as b and d, two or more parallel bolts as e passing through the members b and c, the ends of the bolts carrying coiled springs as g that exert pressure on the movable member as c, and guide-plates as h, substantially as described. (2.) The general combination and arrangement of the several parts as described, and as illustrated on the sheet of drawings.

Claims.—(1.) In joints of bedsteads, a removable duplex plug or dovetail as g, having a connecting-web as i, in combination with sockets formed in both the post-blocks and the side-rails ends, substantially as described. (2.) The combination and arrangement of the various parts as herein described, and as illustrated in Figs. 1 to 5 of the sheet of drawings.
