Changing the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve in the Canterbury Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS the provisions and requirements of the seventh section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” have been duly complied with in respect of the land described in the second column of the Schedule hereto: And whereas notices in the Gazette have been duly published for four consecutive weeks, and laid before both Houses of Assembly, as provided by the said section of the said Act: And whereas no resolution of either House of Assembly has been passed that such House does not concur in the intention declared in any such notice:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Act aforesaid, do hereby change the specific purpose of the portion of the reserve described in the second column of the Schedule hereto from that named in the first column to that named in the third column of the said Schedule.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing 2,560 acres, more or less, around and including the hot springs on the Hanmer Plain, near Jollie’s Pass, forming a parallelogram at the base of the hills bounding the plain on the north. Reserved for public purposes in Nelson Provincial Gazette No. 2, of the 11th February, 1860, page 6. All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing 3 roods 28 perches, more or less, being Reserve No. 3745, and forming part of the Hanmer Plains Reserve, situated in Block II, Lyndon Survey District, bounded as follows: Commencing at the southern junction of Leamington Street and Scarborough Terrace, Town of Hanmer; thence towards the north-west by said Scarborough Terrace, a distance of 152 links; thence towards the north-east by a continuation easterly of the southern boundary of Block III of said Town of Hanmer, a distance of 300 links; thence towards the south-east by a line at right angles to the last-mentioned boundary, a distance of 250 links; thence towards the south-west by a line parallel to the north-east boundary, a distance of 455 links; thence again towards the north-west by a line parallel to the south-east boundary, a distance of 100 links; thence along the south boundary of said Leamington Street, a distance of 125 links, to the commencing point: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 57252/2, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this nineteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and seven.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood 36 perches, more or less, being Reserve No. 1846 (in red), Town of Arowhenua; as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56077, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. Reserved for General Government purposes in Canterbury Provincial Gazette of 20th May, 1875. Acclimatisation.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this nineteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and seven.

Land temporarily reserved in the Auckland Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Auckland Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the said Schedule specified at the end of the description of the land so intended to be temporarily reserved.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 198 acres, more or less, being Section No. 10, Block I, Tarawera Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 32, Suburbs of Rotorua, 8220 links; towards the east by Lot No. 1, Block LXV, Rotorua Town Extension, and the abutment of a road 150 links wide, 320 links; towards the north by the aforesaid road, 750 links; again towards the east by Fenton Street, 713 links; towards the south-east by a road 150 links wide, 780-6 links; towards the north-east by the crossing of the last-mentioned road and Lot No. 1, Block XLVIII, Rotorua Town Extension, 400 links; again towards the east by a reserve, 550 links; again towards the south-east and east generally by the Puarenga Stream; again towards the south-east by a State forest reserve, 70 links; and towards the south-west by Tihoitonga Block, 5427 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: save and except two roads, 100 links wide, which intersect the hereinbefore-described
