Land Sales and Reserve Purposes




Notifying Lands in Canterbury Land District for Sale by
Public Auction.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirteenth section of
“The Land Act, 1892,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket,
the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint Wednesday, the twenty-sixth day of February, one
thousand nine hundred and eight, as the time at which the
lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by
public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the
said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said
Schedule hereto opposite the description of such lands
respectively.

Defining the Purpose of a Reserve in the Canterbury Land
District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS the provisions and requirements of the
seventh section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,”
have been duly complied with in respect of the land de-
scribed in the first column of the Schedule hereto: And
whereas notices in the Gazette have been duly published for
four consecutive weeks, and laid before both houses of
Assembly, as provided by the said section of the said Act:
And whereas no resolution of either House of Assembly has
been passed that such House does not concur in the intention
declared in any such notice:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by
“The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” aforesaid, do hereby
define the specific purpose of the portion of the reserve
described in the first column of the Schedule hereto to be
the specific purpose set opposite such description in the
second column of the said Schedule.

FIRST COLUMN.
Description and Purpose of Original Reserve.

SECOND COLUMN.
Purpose.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 10 acres,
more or less, being Section No. 3748 (in red), part of Rural Section No. 6457, Block IV,
Christchurch Survey District. Bounded towards the south by the southern boundary
of Rural Section No. 6457; towards the west in a northerly direction by Bottle Lake
Road, 50 links; easterly by a line parallel to the first-mentioned boundary, 1600 links;
thence northerly at right angles, 400 links; thence easterly by a parallel line to the first-
mentioned boundary to the 1-chain road along the bank of the Waimakariri River,
and southerly by the road to the starting-point : as the same is delineated on the plan
marked S.G. 57336/4, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington,
and thereon bordered red. Conveyed to the Superintendent of the Province of Canter-
bury, in trust for public purposes, by deed of conveyance dated 8th August, 1870.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of December, one thousand
nine hundred and seven.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in the Auckland Land
District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS the provisions and requirements of the
seventh section of “The Public Reserves Act,
1881,” have been duly complied with in respect of the
land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto :
And whereas notices in the Gazette have been duly pub-
lished for four consecutive weeks, and laid before both
Houses of Assembly, as provided by the said section of
the said Act : And whereas no resolution of either House
of Assembly has been passed that such House does not
concur in the intention declared in any such notice :

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the Act aforesaid, do hereby change the specific purpose
of the reserve described in the first column of the
Schedule hereto from that named therein to that named
in the second column of the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Original Reserve.
Purpose.

All that area in the Auckland Land District,
containing by admeasurement 28 perches,
more or less, being portion of Section No. 6
and portion of Section No. 7, Block IX, Oma-
pere Survey District. Bounded towards the
north-east by a public road, 175 links; towards
the south-east by other portion of said Section
No. 7, 100 links ; towards the south-west by
other portion of Section No. 7 aforesaid and
other portion of said Section No. 6, 175 links;
and towards the north-west by other portion
of Section No. 6 aforesaid, 100 links: be all
the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the
same is delineated on the plan marked S.G.
55416, deposited in the Head Office, Depart-
ment of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon
coloured red. Reserved for a public-hall site
in New Zealand Gazette No. 47, of the 15th
June, 1893.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of December, one thousand
nine hundred and seven.
