New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and determine that the respective duties leviable under the said Acts by way of land-tax and of further graduated land-tax shall be paid in one sum on Friday, the twenty-ninth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and seven.
And in further pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority aforesaid, and with the like advice and consent as aforesaid, His Excellency doth also determine that the place where the said duties of land-tax shall be payable shall be the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, at the Government Buildings, Wellington, and that notice to the foregoing effect shall be given by the said Commissioner accordingly.

WHEREAS by section ten of “The Mining Act, 1905,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time appoint fit persons to be Wardens, who shall hold office during the Governor’s pleasure:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by the said section ten of “The Mining Act, 1905,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

to be a Warden, to hold and exercise the duties of such office under and subject to the provisions of the said Act during pleasure, on and from the first day of November, one thousand nine hundred and seven.

Excepting Land from the Operation of Section 117 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894.”

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section four of “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1895,” it is enacted that the Governor may, by Order in Council, except from the operation of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894” (hereinafter called “the said Act”), for a limited period or otherwise, and either generally or for such purposes and subject to such restrictions as shall be in such Order specified, any land, wheresoever situate, which is for the time being subject to the operation of the said section, or any interest therein or right over the same, or may in like manner make such exception in favour exclusively of any lessee or other person who has been bond fide in occupation of and has made improvements on such land, or has paid money to Native owners for lease or purchase thereof, prior to the passing of the said Act: Provided that no Order in Council under the provisions of this section shall take effect until after the expiration of two months from the date of the publication thereof in the Gazette: Provided also that every alienation under the provisions of this section shall be confirmed by the Court in terms of section fifty-three of the said Act:
And whereas the Aotea District Maori Land Board, by a recommendation made on the twenty-seventh day of September, one thousand nine hundred and seven, and received on the tenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seven, has recommended the Governor to except from the operation of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” for the purpose of alienation by way of sale. the block or parcel of land particularised and set out in the Schedule hereto:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section four of “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1895,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby except the said land from the operation of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” for the purpose of alienation by way of sale.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece of land, situate in the Waitohu Survey District, in the Land District of Wellington, containing 2 roods, more or less, and being part of the Makuratawhiti 10B Block, which said piece of land is bounded towards the west by Makuratawhiti No. 1 Block, 444·1 links; towards the north and east by other part of the said Makuratawhiti 10B Block, 130·71 links and 524·6 links; and towards the south by Makuratawhiti No. 7 Block, 67·1 links: be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less, and being part of the land comprised in an order of the Native Land Court, on investigation of title, dated the 17th day of June, 1907.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of a road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor in Council:
And whereas by section three of “The Public Works Act Amendment Act, 1906,” it is provided that such approval may be either absolute or subject to such conditions as the Governor by Order in Council thinks fit to impose:
And whereas on the eighth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seven, the Council of the Waimea County, the local authority having control of the road known as the Whakapuaka Road, being the road described in the Schedule hereto, did by resolution declare that the provisions of the said section one hundred and seventeen should not apply to the said road:
And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved, subject to the condition hereinafter mentioned:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said resolution, subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on either side of the said road within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre of the said road.
SCHEDULE.
THAT portion of Whakapuaka Road, in the Nelson Land District, fronting Sections 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20, Section 1, Suburban North, Waimea County, commencing from the town boundary and proceeding for a distance of 11 chains in a north-easterly direction to a point on the said road; as the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked R. 8799, deposited in the office of the Chief Engineer of Roads, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured pink, and lettered A.B.
