Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve in the Canterbury Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to change or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in His Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not; and if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserve or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, the Governor may, by notice gazetted, declare his intention to make such change, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” aforesaid, declare my intention to change the specific purpose of the portion of the reserve described in the second column of the Schedule hereto from that named in the first column of the said Schedule to that named in the third column of the said Schedule respectively.

SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Original Reserve. Portion which it is intended to change. Intended Purpose.
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing 2,560 acres, more or less, around and including the hot springs on the Hanmer Plain, near Jollie’s Pass, forming a parallelogram at the base of the hills bounding the plain on the north. Reserved for public purposes in Nelson Provincial Gazette No 2, of the 11th February, 1860, page 6. All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing 3 roods 28 perches, more or less, being Reserve No. 3745, and forming part of the Hanmer Plains Reserve, situated in Block II, Lyndon Survey District, bounded as follows: Commencing at the southern junction of Leamington Street and Scarborough Terrace, Town of Hanmer; thence towards the north-west by said Scarborough Terrace, a distance of 152 links; thence towards the north-east by a continuation easterly of the southern boundary of Block III of said Town of Hanmer, a distance of 300 links; thence towards the south-east by a line at right angles to the last-mentioned boundary, a distance of 250 links; thence towards the south-west by a line parallel to the north-east boundary, a distance of 455 links; thence again towards the north-west by a line parallel to the south-east boundary, a distance of 100 links; thence along the south boundary of said Leamington Street, a distance of 125 links, to the commencing point: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 57252/2, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink. For a site for the deposit of rubbish.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-third day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seven.

Lands temporarily reserved in the Auckland Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Auckland Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for endowments for primary education.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 448 acres, more or less, being Section No. 2, Block VIII, Whareorino Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east generally by the Mangaotaki–Kiritehere Road; towards the south-east by Sections Nos. 2A and 3 of the aforesaid Block VIII; towards the south-west by Crown land; and towards the west by Kinohaku West “G,” Section 1c (Whareorino Block), and by the aforesaid Mangaotaki–Kiritehere Road: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 57902/1A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 860 acres, more or less, being Section No. 6, Block V, Whareorino Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Kinohaku West “H,” Section 11 (Moeatoa Block); towards the east generally by a forest reserve and the Mangaotaki–Kiritehere Road; towards the south by Section No. 1A, Block VIII, Whareorino Survey District; and towards the west by Sections Nos. 4, 5 (scenic reserve), and 2 and 1 of Block V aforesaid: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 57902/1B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 341 acres, more or less, being Section No. 364, Parish of Waimana. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 356 of the aforesaid parish; towards the east by Sections Nos. 190, 191, and 192 of Waimana Parish aforesaid; towards the south by Section No. 325 of the aforesaid parish; and towards the west generally by a road: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 57902/1C, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 462 acres, more or less, being Section No. 506, Taupiri Parish. Bounded towards the north generally by the Mangatea Gorge Road; towards the east by Section No. 500, Taupiri Parish aforesaid (a forest reserve); towards the south-east by Native land; and towards the west by Section No. 505 of the aforesaid parish: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 57902/1D, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 9 acres 3 roods 30 perches, more or less, being Section No. 18, Block IV, Rangaroa Village, situated in Block I, Piopiotea Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by the Rangaroa Road; towards the east by Sections Nos. 1, 3, and 4 of the said Block IV; towards the south by Section No. 12, Block IV aforesaid; and towards the west by a road: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 57902/1E, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 125 acres 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 2, Block X, Awakino North Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west generally by the Lower Awakino Valley Road; towards the north-east by the Mahoe-nui No. 6 Block; towards the south-east by the Manga-awakino Block; and towards the south-west by Section No. 1, Block X aforesaid: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 57902/1F, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 20 acres, more or less, being Section No. 16, Block III, Te Kuri Survey District. Bounded towards the north and east by Section No. 1 of the aforesaid Block III; towards the south by a road; and towards the west by Sec-
