Appointment of Intelligence Officer, Otago Military District.

THE following special order, made by the Christchurch City Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.

Special Order to raise a Loan and making a Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” “The Public Health Act, 1900,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:—

(a.) That whereas section 66 of “The Public Health Act, 1900,” provides that in any case where a sanitary work to be constructed has been recommended by the District Health Officer and approved by the Minister of Public Health, a local authority may, for the purpose of constructing the said work, borrow money by special order without taking any poll of the ratepayers or obtaining their consent to the work or the loan: And whereas the District Health Officer has recommended “that the Christchurch City Council do establish lavatories, water-closets, urinals, and any similar sanitary conveniences that may be considered advisable for the use of both sexes of the general public,” and the Hon. the Minister of Public Health has approved of the said Council going on with the said works: Now, therefore, the said Christchurch City Council doth hereby
