A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by the one-hundred-and-sixty-second section of “The Land Act, 1892,” and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke a Proclamation dated the third day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 58, dated the eighth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five, setting apart lands for Waikawa Improved-farm Special Settlement, in so far as it relates to the lands described in the Schedule hereto.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Sections Nos. 7 and 8, Block XVII, Waikawa Survey District, containing 205 acres 1 rood 8 perches.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by “The Scenery Preservation Act, 1903” (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may appoint a Commission who may inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there may be thermal springs, and report thereon to the Governor, with recommendations as to what lands should be reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas such Commission was duly appointed, and, after inspection, recommended that the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereunder should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, and of “The Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1906,” do hereby proclaim and declare that the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereunder shall be reserved under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.
SCHEDULE.
PUKEAMARU RANGE.
ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,878 acres 3 roods, more or less, being portion of Small Grazing-run No. 71, Blocks XI and XII, Matakaoa Survey District. Bounded towards the south-west by part of Small Grazing-run No. 71 aforesaid, 13134·9 links; towards the south by the Parinui Stream, by other part of Small Grazing-run No. 71 aforesaid, 6751·9 links, and by a road-line, 166 links; towards the south-east by the Papatarata and Pipituangi Blocks, 16158·3 links; towards the north generally by Pukeamaru No. 6b Block, 9924·8 links, the Wairenga and Makirikiri Streams, and the Wharekahika Block, 7270 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 52804/29, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of September, 1907.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a public work, to wit, for the purposes of a road in the Puatae and Roto-o-tahi Blocks, Blocks III and VII, Whangara Survey District:
And whereas the said land is held or occupied by Native owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown:
And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the said lands, as required by the eighty-ninth section of “The Public Works Act, 1905”:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by the eighty-ninth section of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that the land shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the purposes of the said road; and the said road shall vest in His Majesty the King as from the twenty-first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seven.
