Validating District Electors Roll, Borough of Queenstown.

PLUNKET, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of September, 1907.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it has been made to appear that the district electors roll of the Borough of Queenstown for the years one thousand nine hundred and six and one thousand nine hundred and seven was prepared and completed after the times required by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and it is expedient to validate the same:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” doth hereby declare that the district electors roll of the Borough of Queenstown for the years commencing from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and six and one thousand nine hundred and seven, respectively, so prepared and completed as aforesaid shall be and be deemed to have been as valid to all intents and purposes as though the same had been prepared and completed within the times required by the said Act, and the regulations thereunder.

Elections to fill Extraordinary Vacancies, Queenstown Borough Council, validated.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of September, 1907.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS all the Councillors of the Borough of Queenstown resigned their offices as Councillors for the Queenstown Borough Council during the month of May last:

And whereas an election was duly held to fill the extraordinary vacancies caused by the said resignations:

And whereas in the public notices published by the Returning Officer respecting the said election it was stated that the vacancies were extraordinary vacancies, but the words “biennial election” were added in error, and it is expedient to validate the said election:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” doth hereby declare that the aforesaid election to fill the extraordinary vacancies caused by the resignation of the Councillors of the said Queenstown Borough Council shall be and be deemed to have been as valid as if the aforesaid words had not been inserted in the said notices.

Extending the Time for holding General Election of Councillors, Borough of Queenstown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of September, 1907.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” it is provided that the general elections of Councillors of boroughs shall be held on the last Wednesday in April in every second year succeeding the year one thousand nine hundred and one: And whereas the general election of Councillors of the Borough of Queenstown for the year one thousand nine hundred and seven has not been held, and it is expedient that the date appointed for the holding of the same should be extended as hereinafter provided:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” doth hereby order and declare that the time for holding the general election of Councillors for the Borough of Queenstown for the year one thousand nine hundred and seven shall be extended to Wednesday, the ninth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seven.

Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Rawene Domain.

PLUNKET, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of September, 1907.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section two of “The Domain Boards Act, 1904” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to “The Public Domains Act, 1881,” control of such domain:

And whereas by an Order in Council made under the provisions of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” on the twenty-second day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-fifth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seven, the land described in the Schedule hereto was brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881”:

And whereas it appears expedient to appoint a Domain Board to control the said domain:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the said Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby appoint

GEORGE THOMAS CLENDON,
JOHN JAMES BRYERS,
ERNEST TIRARAU WALKER,
JOHN BEAZLEY, and
WILLIAM DIVE

to be the Rawene Domain Board, having the control of the land described in the said Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Thursday, the third day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seven, at half past seven o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the County Hall, Rawene, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.


SCHEDULE.

RAWENE DOMAIN.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres and 29 perches, more or less, being Allotments Nos. 153, 154, 155, 156, 157, 158, 159, 160, 161, 162, 163, 164, 165, and 166 of the Town of Rawene. Bounded towards the north by McDonnell Street, 625·7 links; towards the east by Clendon Esplanade, 211·2, 160·9, and 140·6 links; towards the south by Nimmo Street, 673·6 links; and towards the west by Parnell Street, 505 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56691/4, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
