SPENCER GULF._ENTRANCE TO PORT PIRIE RIVER.
Notice is hereby given that No. 1 light-beacon at the entrance to Port Pirie Creek has been knocked down, and that, pending its re-erection, a small ketch has been moored near the same position.
The ketch will show from the masthead a red ball by day and a red light by night.
This affects Admiralty Charts Nos. 2389B and 403.

NEW PLYMOUTH LEADING-LIGHTS._CORRECTION IN BEARING.

INFORMATION has been received from the New Plymouth Harbour Board that the bearings of the leading-lights for entering the harbour given in Notice to Mariners No. 27, of June, 1884, and No. 77, of October, 1906, also in the "New Zealand Pilot" and "New Zealand Nautical Almanac," are incorrect. The magnetic bearings of the lights in line are now given by the Harbour Board as S. 48°W. and N. 48°E.
Charts, &c., affected: Admiralty Charts Nos. 2054 and 2535; "New Zealand Pilot," seventh edition, 1901, Chap. v, page 192; "New Zealand Nautical Almanac," 1907, page 136.

Notice fixing Closing-hours of Shops in the Borough of Hawera under the Shops and Offices Act.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in the Borough of Hawera, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all shops in the borough (except those specified in the Schedule to "The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905") shall be closed at 6 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays; at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays (the weekly half-holiday); and 9.30 p.m. on Saturdays during the months of October, November, December, January, February, and March; and at 9 p.m. on Saturdays during the months of April, May, June, July, August, and September:
And whereas the Hawera Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in the borough:
Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 21 of "The Shops and Offices Act, 1904," and section 5 of "The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905," do hereby direct that from and after the 16th day of September, 1907, all the shops in the Borough of Hawera (except those specified in the Schedule to "The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905") shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.
The Gazette notice of 20th September, 1906, is hereby cancelled, as from the 16th September, 1907.

Bakers, butchers, chemists, confectioners, dairy-produce sellers, fishmongers, florists, fruiterers, hairdressers, news-agents, pork-butchers, refreshment-room keepers, and tobacconists.

And whereas the Wanganui Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the hairdressers and tobacconists’ shops in the borough:
Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, the Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 21 of "The Shops and Offices Act, 1904," and section 5 of "The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905,” do hereby direct that from and after the 16th day of September, 1907, all the hairdressers and
tobacconists’ shops in the Borough of Wanganui shall be closed in accordance with such requisition.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 2 of "The Towns Main Streets Act, 1902,” I, Robert McNab, Minister of Lands, do hereby authorise the laying-off of Hutchens, Raroa, and Polten Streets, in the Township of Raroa, Wellington Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft., instead of 99 ft. as prescribed by section 17 of "The Land Act, 1892.”

Notice to the Public Trustee.

WHEREAS Henry Matthews Campbell is at present detained as an inmate of the Burnham Industrial School, and Grace Janet Campbell is at present detained as an inmate of the Christchurch Receiving Home (both of which schools have been established under "The Industrial Schools Act, 1882"), and such inmates are or may be interested in certain property within the colony;
And whereas it appears expedient to issue the direction herein-after set forth:
Now, I, George Fowlds, Minister of Education, do hereby, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of "The Industrial Schools Act Amendment Act. 1895,” direct the Public Trustee to take possession of all such property as may come to his knowledge and apply the same for the benefit of such inmates in accordance with the provisions of such last-mentioned Act.

NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to an application in that behalf made to me by the Auckland Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Metal-workers Industrial Union of Workers, registered No. 90, situated at Auckland, the registration of that industrial union will be cancelled at the expiration of six weeks from the date hereof unless within the six weeks specified proceedings be commenced by a member or other person interested in or having some claim on the funds of the industrial union to set aside such cancellation, and the same is set aside accordingly.
