Special Order made by the Council of the Borough of Marton.

THE following special order, made by the Marton Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

MARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Marton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £2,500, authorised to be raised by the Marton Borough Council, under the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of erecting a new gas-holder, extension of gasworks plant, mains, and service, the said Marton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3d. in the pound sterling upon the rateable valuation (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Marton; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and to be paid half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution adopted at a special meeting of the Marton Borough Council held on Monday, the 29th day of July, 1907, and confirmed as a special order at a special meeting of the Council held on Monday, the 26th day of August, 1907.

Alterations to the Scale of Fares, Rates, and Charges in Force upon the New Zealand Government Railways.

IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me under “The Government Railways Act, 1900,” I, Joseph George Ward, Minister for Railways, do hereby make the following alterations in the scale of fares, rates, and charges in force on the New Zealand Government railways open for traffic, such alterations to come into force on and after the 29th day of August, 1907:—

PART III.—GOODS: REGULATIONS.

Cancel Regulation 46.

Insert—

DEPASTURING STARVING STOCK.

  1. Starving stock sent from Lawrence, Timaru, and all intermediate stations to Stirling and all stations south thereof for depasturing will, on the return journey, be conveyed free of charge from the original destination station to the original forwarding station, provided,—

(a.) That the consignment note for the outward journey is indorsed with the following certificate:—

“I hereby certify that the stock entered hereon are being sent for depasturing purposes.”

(b.) On the return journey a statutory declaration must be made in the following form:—

“I hereby certify that the stock entered on the consignment note attached hereto were consigned from __ to __ for depasturing on __, 1907, and are now being returned. I also certify that no portion of the stock has been sold or exchanged.”

FREE CARRIAGE OF FODDER FOR STARVING STOCK.

Hay, straw, chaff, grain, turnips, green fodder, ensilage, molasses, molasses fodder, and sucrosine purchased and to be used for the sake of keeping alive stock starving by reason of the recent drought will be carried free to Lawrence, Timaru, and all intermediate stations affected by the recent drought on production by the consignor of a statutory declaration in the following form:—

“I hereby certify that the (a) __ consigned by me from (b) __ to (c) __, has been purchased and is to be used for the sole purpose of keeping alive stock starving by reason of the recent drought.”

(a) Insert here particulars of fodder. (b) Station from. (c) Name of consignee and station to.

This regulation will expire on the 30th September, 1907.

Approving and appointing a Bonding Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by “The Customs Laws Consolidation Act, 1882,” I, the Minister of Customs, do hereby approve and appoint the undermentioned warehouse to be a warehouse for the reception of goods under bond, namely,—

Port of Auckland.

Cellar of a brick building situated on part Lots 31 to 35 of 16-18, Section 3, Fort Street, to be known as

HANCOCK’S BOND.

Notice to Mariners No. 56 of 1907.

THE following Notices to Mariners, received from the Secretary, Department of Navigation, Sydney, and the President of the Marine Board, Port Adelaide, respectively, are published for general information.

ST. VINCENT GULF.—PORT ADELAIDE, OUTER HARBOUR.

NOTICE is hereby given that on or about 13th August, 1907, the following alterations will be made:—

The beacons of No. 1 lead will be altered to show the centre of the new cutting, which has a depth of not less than 30 ft. at O.L.W.S. and a width of 200 ft. When altered the line of lead will be N. 55° E. and S. 55° W.

A black beacon, showing a green light by night, will also be erected on the north bank opposite the intersection of Nos. 1 and 2 leads. This beacon will be about 20 ft. back from the cutting.

This affects Admiralty Charts Nos. 2389B and 1750.

It is hereby notified that the Lower Coal Channel light-beacon, Fort Scratchley, Newcastle Harbour, has been removed slightly to the northward, and the light thereon will be exhibited from its new position on and after Friday night, the 26th instant.
