MINING NOTICE.
UNDER “THE MINING ACT, 1905.”
ORDER PRESCRIBING STATUTORY PROTECTION IN RESPECT OF SPECIFIED MINING PRIVILEGES.
In the Warden’s Court of the Otago Mining District, held at Cromwell.
UPON reading the application of Florence Rose Ellis, wife of Thomas Chute Ellis, of Mount Gambier, in the Colony of South Australia, Sheep-farmer; Jessie Margaret Ellis, wife of John Chute Ellis, of Invercargill, in the Provincial District of Otago, in the Colony of New Zealand, Sheep-farmer; and Robert Ranald McDonald, of Upper Nevis, in the Provincial District of Otago aforesaid, Miner; and the declaration of the said Robert Ranald McDonald, and the certificate of David Barron, Chief Surveyor at Dunedin; and upon hearing Mr. Brodrick, Solicitor for the said Florence Rose Ellis, Jessie Margaret Ellis, and Robert Ranald McDonald, and being satisfied that the mining privileges situated at Upper Nevis, in the Provincial District of Otago aforesaid, mentioned and specified in the Schedule hereto, are more than two thousand feet (2,000) above sea-level, and in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority in this behalf conferred upon me by Regulation 66 made under “The Mining Act, 1905,” I do hereby order and prescribe that with respect to the mining privileges at Upper Nevis aforesaid, mentioned and described in the Schedule hereto, the prescribed altitude above sea-level referred to in section 162 of “The Mining Act, 1905,” shall be 2,000 feet, and the prescribed period of protection shall be from the 1st day of May to the 30th day of September in each year.
