Special Orders made by the Council of the County of Westland.

THE following special orders, made by the Westland County Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE WESTLAND COUNTY COUNCIL.

  1. THAT, pursuant to the powers in this behalf contained in “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” with the amendments thereto, the Westland County Council hereby resolves (by way of special order) as follows:—

(a.) That the Westland County Council shall borrow and raise by way of loan, as authorised by the first-mentioned Act, the sum of £512 17s. 6d., being the ascertained quota due by the Council towards the cost of erecting the Teremakau Traffic-bridge.

(b.) That the principal, interest, and sinking fund of such loan be secured on a special annual-recurring rate of 1/8d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property in the County of Westland.

(c.) That the said loan have a currency of twenty-six years.

(d.) That half-yearly payments in liquidation of the said loan shall be made on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of the loan.

(e.) That the Council may pay the half-yearly interest out of the General County Fund.

  1. That the Council hereby makes a special order as follows:—

That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Westland County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £512 17s. 6d., authorised to be raised by the Westland County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of contributing the ascertained quota towards the cost of re-erecting the Teremakau Traffic-bridge, the said Westland County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/8d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property of the County of Westland, comprising the land bounded towards the north by the Grey County; towards the east by the Counties of Selwyn, Ashburton, and Geraldine to near Mount Mueller Glacier, thence by a line along the summit of the Southern Alps to Mount Aspiring; towards the south by a right line from the summit of Mount Aspiring to the mouth of the Awarua River; towards the west by the ocean to the mouth of the Teremakau River, the south-western corner of the Grey County, the starting-point: and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of February and the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

  1. That the foregoing special orders shall take effect as from the 1st day of August, 1907.

The resolutions relating to the above were adopted at a special meeting duly held on the 12th day of June, 1907.

The subsequent meeting for the confirmation of same was duly held on the 31st day of July, 1907, the requisite public notice and the notice to each Councillor having been duly given in accordance with the statutory provisions made and provided.

THE following special order, made by the Martinborough Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

MARTINBOROUGH TOWN DISTRICT.

Special Order making Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Martinborough Town Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the loan of £8,000, authorised to be raised by the Martinborough Town Board, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of providing a water-supply for the Martinborough Township, the said Martinborough Town Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Martinborough Town District, comprising all that area described in Proclamation dated 25th March, 1905, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 30th March, 1905, as follows:—

All that area in the Wellington Land District commencing at a point on the Huangarua Road being the intersection of the production of the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 674 through Part A, Block IX, Huangarua Survey District, with the production of the north-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 704; thence towards the north-east by the north-eastern boundary of the said road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 704; thence towards the north-west by a right line to the centre of the said Huangarua Road, being the south-eastern boundary-line of Section No. 94, Part A, of the said Block IX, Huangarua Survey District; again towards the north-east generally by the middle of the said Huangarua Road and the middle of the Puruatanga Road to the intersection of the last-mentioned road with the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 765; thence towards the south-east by the said road forming the south-eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 765, 730, 735, 736, 741, 742, 759, 760, 761, and 762 to a point opposite the south-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence towards the south-west by a right line from the centre of the said road to the southernmost corner of Section No. 762; thence by the south-western boundary-lines of Sections Nos. 762, 758, the abutment of Regent Street, Section No. 754, and Section No. 750 to its westernmost corner; thence by the production of the south-western boundary-line of the said Section No. 750 across the Otaraia Road to a point being the intersection of the said production with the production of the north-western boundary-line of Section No. 699; thence by a right line across Dublin Street to the westernmost corner of the said Section No. 699, and thence by the north-western boundary-lines of the last-mentioned section and Section No. 695 to its northernmost corner; thence by a right line across Otaraia Road to the westernmost corner of Section No. 667; thence by the north-western boundary-line of the last-mentioned section to the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 723; again towards the north-east, south-east, and south-west by the said Section No. 723 to the westernmost corner of Section No. 674; again towards the north-west by the north-western boundary-line of the said Section No. 674, and that line produced across the New York Road to the place of commencement: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 53528, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon bordered green.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Made and passed by the Martinborough Town Board, this 20th day of June, 1907.
