Notice of Intention to take Land in Block II, Mawheranui Survey District, for a Mining Work.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and “The Coal-mines Act, 1905,” to take for the purpose of working the Paparoa Coal-mine the land described in the Schedule hereto. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the Post-office at Blackball, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking thereof, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister for Public Works, Wellington.

Bonus for the Production of Copper.
Mines Department,
Wellington, 25th June, 1907.
NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus will be paid on the production of good marketable copper from ores mined and smelted in New Zealand, on the following conditions, viz.:—

That if 1,000 tons be produced on or before 30th June, 1909, the bonus payable will be £1,000.
-
That if a second 1,000 tons be produced between 1st July, 1909, and 30th June, 1910, the bonus payable will be £500.
-
That if a third 1,000 tons be produced between 1st July, 1910, and 30th June, 1911, the bonus payable will be £500.
-
No bonus will be payable until the whole of the production stipulated has been made to the satisfaction of an officer to be appointed by the Minister of Mines, on whose certificate alone the bonus will be paid.

In the event of more than one person or company producing the required quantities of copper before the dates named, inquiry will be made by the officer above referred to, when, if it is found that each applicant is equally entitled to a bonus, the amount will be divided in proportion to the quantities produced by each applicant, but in no case shall any bonus be paid until at least 1,000 tons of copper has been produced in the aggregate.

Bonus for the Production of Quicksilver.
Mines Office,
Wellington, 5th July, 1907.
NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus of fourpence (4d.) per pound will be paid on the production of the first one hundred thousand pounds weight (100,000 lb.) of good marketable retorted quicksilver, free from all impurities, from any mine in New Zealand, on the following conditions, that is to say:—

That at least one-third of the quantity is produced on or before the 31st March, 1910, and the remaining two-thirds on or before the 31st March, 1911.

No bonus will be payable until the whole of the one hundred thousand pounds (100,000 lb.) of quicksilver has been produced as stipulated to the satisfaction of an officer to be appointed by the Minister of Mines, and on whose certificate alone the bonus will be paid.

In the event of more than one person producing the required quantities of quicksilver before the dates named, inquiry will be made by the officer above referred to, when, if it is found that each applicant is equally entitled to a bonus, the amount will be divided in proportion to the quantities produced by each applicant, but in no case shall any bonus be paid until at least one hundred thousand pounds (100,000 lb.) of quicksilver has been produced in the aggregate.
