THE following special order, made by the Kaikoura County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

KAIKOURA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order making Special Rate.—Loan of £5,000, Kaikoura Wharf.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Kaikoura County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,000, authorised to be raised by the Kaikoura County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of erecting a new wharf at Kaikoura, the said Kaikoura County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅔d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the County of Kaikoura; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off, the interest on such loan being at the rate of 5 per centum per annum.
I, James Boyd, Chairman of the Kaikoura County Council, do hereby certify that the above special order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of the Kaikoura County Council held on the 18th day of May, 1907, and was duly confirmed at a special meeting of the said Kaikoura County Council held on the 15th day of June, 1907.
In testimony whereof the common seal of the Kaikoura County Council has been hereunto affixed.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Marton, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

BOROUGH OF MARTON.
Result of Poll of Proposed Loan.—“The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”—Proposed Special Loan of £2,500.
I, SIDNEY SKERMAN, Mayor of the Borough of Marton, in the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and of all other powers thereunto enabling me, do hereby give notice that on the 10th day of July, 1907, a poll of the said borough was duly taken, under the provisions of the said Act, on a proposal of the Council of the said borough to borrow the sum of £2,500 by way of special loan, a copy of the notice in respect of which is next hereinafter set out, and that on the taking of the said poll 90 electors voted for the said proposal and 12 voted against it, and accordingly the said proposal and the resolution in favour thereof have been duly carried.

Declaration of Mayor.
I, Sidney Skerman, of the Town of Marton, Mayor of the Borough of Marton, do solemnly and sincerely declare as follows:—
(1.) That all proceedings required by law to be taken in or towards obtaining the sanction of the electors to the proposal described in the copy-notice above set forth have been duly taken.
(2.) That a resolution in favour of the said proposal has been duly carried at a poll of the electors of the Borough of Marton duly taken on the 10th day of July, 1907, pursuant to “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”
And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled “The Justices of the Peace Act, 1882.”

Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

THE following notices, received from the Mayor of the City of Christchurch, are published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” in substitution for those already gazetted on pages 2087–88 of the New Zealand Gazette, 1907.

In the matter of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” and of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and the Acts amending the same respectively.
We hereby give notice that on the 26th day of June, 1907, a proposal was submitted by the Christchurch City Council to the ratepayers of Central Ward of the City of Christchurch for raising a special loan of £66,400 for the purpose of constructing waterworks for the supply of pure water for the use and benefit of the inhabitants of the said ward; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 548; against, 379.
And we declare the said proposal to be carried.

We hereby give notice that on the 26th day of June, 1907, a proposal was submitted by the Christchurch City Council to the ratepayers of Linwood Ward of the City of Christchurch for raising a special loan of £19,200 for the purpose of constructing waterworks for the supply of pure water for the use and benefit of the inhabitants of the said ward; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 264; against, 208.
And we declare the said proposal to be carried.

We hereby give notice that on the 26th day of June, 1907, a proposal was submitted by the Christchurch City Council to the ratepayers of St. Albans Ward of the City of Christchurch for raising a special loan of £29,300 for the purpose of constructing waterworks for the supply of pure water for the use and benefit of the inhabitants of the said ward; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 301; against, 265.
And we declare the said proposal to be carried.
