Removing Restrictions against Alienation of Native Land.
PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS by section fourteen of “The Maori Land Laws Amendment Act, 1903,” it is enacted that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any Act, or in any Crown grant or other instrument of title, the Governor may, on the recommendation of the Board, remove any restriction on the alienation of land owned by Maoris: Provided that the decision of the Governor on any recommendation of the Board shall be given within six months from the date of the receipt of such recommendation:
And whereas the Aotea District Maori Land Board, by a recommendation made and passed by the said Board on the twenty-eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and seven, and received on the seventeenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seven, recommended the Governor to remove and revoke the restrictions against alienation contained in the instrument of title of the block of land more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, so far as to permit the said land to be sold:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon and vested in me by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities me thereunto enabling, and in accordance with the recommendation of the Aotea District Maori Land Board aforesaid, do hereby remove and revoke the restrictions now existing against the alienation of the said land, so far as to permit the same to be sold.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land, containing 9 perches, more or less, being Te Aro Pa, Lot 21, situate in the City of Wellington, and comprised in a Crown grant dated the 22nd day of November, 1866, containing the restriction that the said land shall be “inalienable by sale, or by lease for a longer period than twenty-one years from the making of any such lease, or by mortgage, except with the consent of the Governor in Council being previously obtained to every such sale, lease, or mortgage.”
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this sixteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seven.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand do hereby appoint
WILLIAM CHALMERS CLARK
to be a Trustee, in the place of Thomas Ingram, resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Hampden Bush (Hawke’s Bay) Public Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons previously appointed by His Excellency the Governor.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this sixteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seven.
