Petition for Incorporation by the Owners of the Waitutuma 1a Block.

IN THE NATIVE LAND COURT OF NEW ZEALAND, WELLINGTON DISTRICT.

In the matter of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” and its amendments, and of the petition for incorporation by the owners of the Waitutuma 1a Block. At a sitting of the Court held at Greytown North, before Robert Campbell Sim, Esquire, Judge, and Ihaia Hutana, Assessor, on Wednesday, the 17th day of April, 1907.

UPON reading the petition for incorporation lodged herein, and upon hearing the petitioners and the evidence adduced on their behalf, and the Court being satisfied of the consent of the majority of the owners of the said Waitutuma 1a Block, and that such block can be dealt with to the advantage of the owners thereof by being incorporated as hereinafter appearing, it is ordered that the owners whose names are set out in the Schedule hereunder written shall be and the same are hereby constituted a body corporate within the meaning of section 122 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” by the name of “The Proprietors of the Waitutuma 1a Block,” subject to the powers, liabilities, and incidents conferred or imposed by the said Act or by any amendments thereof. The said land contains 17,800 acres, or thereabouts, and is bounded as follows: Commencing at Te Hurupi, thence in a direct line towards Te Nau Hill till it strikes the Turanganui River to its junction with the west branch of the Turanganui, then continuing up that branch till a straight line drawn between Abitununama and Te Nau hits the last-mentioned river, then following along this line to the top of the main range between Mount Ross and Hautata; thence being bounded towards the east by lines following along the watershed of the main range to Kaiwiri, Ngapotiki, and Kokiritokotoko as far as the north boundary of the Waitutuma Block (4,800 acres); towards the south by the last-mentioned boundary; and towards the west by the Kawakawa, Waitutuma 1b, Watarangi, and Te Kopi Blocks to the point of commencement: as the same is delineated on the plan W.D. 1316.

And it is hereby ordered and directed that a general meeting of the proprietors of the said block shall be held at Papawai on Monday, the 20th day of May, 1907, at the hour of 11 o’clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of nominating a committee to administer the said land, and fixing the number of its members.
