perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Principally hilly country. Elevation, from 300 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. About 300 acres cleared and sown with grass many years ago, remainder covered with light bush, consisting of kowhai, tawa, manuka, and cedar, &c. The cleared portion has carried 700 sheep. Good dark soil, on clay-and-papa subsoil. Watered by several streams. Good site for a homestead. Situated within 10 chains of the main Gisborne-Waimata Valley Road, about twelve miles and a half from Gisborne by good dray-road.

All hilly land of good quality, covered with bush, consisting of tawa, rimu, and the usual undergrowth. Watered by the Motu River and streams. Situated on the west bank of the Motu River, fifty-five miles from Gisborne—fifty-two miles dray-road, and three miles formed horse-track to a point on the east side of the river opposite the section, and thence to the land by a few chains of unformed road.

About two-thirds covered with fern, tutu, and manuka, balance light bush. Broken land; lower portion generally light pumice soil; higher slopes and hilltops have generally a much stiffer soil, of better quality, on a sandy-clay subsoil. Altitude, from 700 ft. to 1,900 ft. Well watered. Situated about forty-four miles from Gisborne, and thirty-eight miles from Wairoa.

Altitude, about 350 ft. above sea-level. Two acres bush, remainder broken fern country; good land. Accessible by dray-road from Waipiro.
