Land temporarily reserved in the Hawke’s Bay Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Hawke’s Bay Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the said Schedule specified at the end of the description of the land so intended to be temporarily reserved.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 9 perches, more or less, being Section No. 50, Town of West Clive. Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 18, 400 links; towards the south-east by a public road, 140 links; towards the south-west by Section No. 51, 400 links; and towards the north-west by Section No. 63, 140 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 57016/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. For a site for a public school.

Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 9 in the said block, 176 links, and by County Road, 358·7 and 130·4 links; towards the south-east by Lincoln Street, 469·3 links; towards the south-west by Section No. 12 in the said block, 388 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 57056/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For gravel purposes.

All that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 17 perches, more or less, being Section No. 4, Block XI, Town of Hirstfield. Bounded towards the north by Falls Creek Sludge-channel, 155 links; towards the east by Grandview Terrace, 462·5 links; towards the south by Crown land, 110 links; and towards the west by the edge of the cliffs of Tewaewae Bay, 465 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 57060/1. deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For a public recreation-ground.

All that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 2 roods 26 perches, more or less, being Section No. 1, Block XVII, Town of Hirstfield. Bounded towards the north-east by Denbigh Street, 155 links; towards the east generally by Grandview Terrace, 2050·8, 1004·9, and 680·9 links; towards the south by Falls Creek Sludge-channel, 170 links; and towards the west by the edge of the cliffs of Tewaewae Bay, 3730 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 57060/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For a public recreation-ground.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that, from and after the date hereof, seagulls of any species shall cease to be within the operation of the said Acts in the area described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

HALF a mile on each side of the Wainuiomata River, from the sea to the Wellington Corporation waterworks reservoir.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this thirteenth day of May, one thousand nine
hundred and seven.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the twenty-sixth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and seven; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in
