HOROWHENUA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Confirmation of Special Order of 12th January, 1907.
Ordinary Meeting, 9th February, 1907.
That the special order made at a special meeting on the 12th day of January, 1907, for the raising of a loan of £1,200, under “The Public Works Act, 1905,” and “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for erecting a traffic-bridge, including approaches and protective works, over the Manawatu River at Shannon, and the making and levying a special rate of 1/30d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation of all rateable properties within the Horowhenua County, be now confirmed.
I hereby certify to the above being a correct copy of the resolution confirming the special order which it relates to on the 9th day of February, 1907.

THE following special order, made by the Masterton Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

MASTERTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The Masterton Borough Gasworks Loans Repayment Loan, 1907.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and their amendments, and all other Acts and powers (if any) enabling it in that behalf, the Masterton Borough Council hereby resolves by special order as follows:—

To borrow the sum of £11,000, repayable on the 28th day of February, 1917, for the purpose of paying off the balance, a loan of £12,500, raised by the Masterton Borough Council, under the above Acts, £1,500 being already provided for by sinking funds or otherwise.

That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £11,000, authorised to be raised by the Masterton Borough Council, under the above Acts, for the repayment of a loan of £12,500, raised under the provisions of the above Acts, less the sum of £1,500 provided for by sinking funds and otherwise, the said Masterton Borough Council hereby makes and levies by special order a special rate of 7/16d. in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Masterton; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of July and the 1st day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, commencing on the 28th day of February, 1907, or until the loan is fully paid off, the first instalment being payable on the 1st day of July, 1907.
The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Masterton was affixed hereto in pursuance of a resolution of the said Council passed on the 12th day of February, 1907, in the presence of—

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that at a poll taken this day upon a proposal to borrow, by way of special loan, the sum of £9,000 sterling, for the purpose of a water-supply, the following are the particulars of the votes recorded:—

Proposed Special Loan of £4,000.
In the matter of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”
I HEREBY give public notice that on the 18th day of February, 1907, a proposal was submitted by the Hastings Borough Council to the ratepayers of a portion of the Borough of Hastings for raising a special loan of £4,000 for the purpose of providing pumping machinery and water for fire-extinguishing and street-watering purposes, and the number of votes recorded for and against the proposal was as follows: For, 14; against, 29; informal, 1.
And I declare the said proposal to be rejected.

RANGIORA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Result of Poll on Proposed Loan of £8,000.
NOTICE is hereby given that the poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Rangiora (including all persons entitled to vote on proposals to raise loans) was taken in the Borough Council’s temporary office, High Street, Rangiora, on Monday, the 4th day of February, 1907, upon the following proposal—namely, to borrow, under “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and its amendments, the sum of £8,000 for the purpose of constructing, providing, establishing, and equipping gasworks for the manufacturing and supply of gas to light roads, streets, and public places of the Borough of Rangiora, and for the use of the Council, and for sale to consumers, and the doing of all things necessary or incidental to such undertaking; and at such poll the number of votes recorded for and against the proposal was—for the proposal, 111; against the proposal, 16; informal, 1.
I therefore declare the said proposal to be duly carried.
