Altitude, from 50 ft. to 300 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land, about one-fourth fern and tea-tree; balance covered with light mixed forest, comprising puriri, taraire, miro, rata, and some small totara and kauri of no commercial value; dense undergrowth of kiekie, toetoe, and nikau; soil fair second-class, better in the forest than in the open; well watered by small streams. Situated four miles from Kaitaia.

Rural Land in Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-six of “The Land Act, 1892,” and section two of “The Bush and Swamp Crown Lands Settlement Act, 1903,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare and provide as follows, that is to say:—

The rural land enumerated in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for disposal by way of sale or selection on and after the thirteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and seven, at the respective prices specified in the said Schedule.

The said land may be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on lease in perpetuity: provided that in the case of land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, it shall be selected on lease in perpetuity only and shall not be purchased for cash.

For the purposes of “The Bush and Swamp Crown Lands Settlement Act, 1903,” the land enumerated in the said Schedule hereto shall be deemed to be “heavy-bush land.”

No general rate shall be levied or collected by any local authority from the said land for a period of four years from the date from which such land is disposed of, and no local authority shall have power to levy or collect any such rate from such land during such period.

After the first half-year’s rent has been paid by the selector the further instalments of rent payable by him for a period of four years shall not be demanded: provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land the rent so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount of rent previously conceded to the selector, as the Board shall think fit.

Altitude, from 200 ft. to 800 ft. above sea-level. Very broken land, covered with mixed forest, comprising rimu, kahikatea, miro, tawa, and rata, with dense undergrowth of toetoe, kiekie, and bush ferns; soil fair, on sandstone formation; well watered. Situated about midway between Broadwood and Whangape. Access from Whangape, about eight miles by rough track.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the fourteenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and seven; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase
