Classification Regulations.—Double Increment.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this seventh day of December, 1907.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-ninth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the thirtieth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seven, regulations were made under the authority of “The Post and Telegraph Classification and Regulation Act, 1890,” “The Post and Telegraph Classification and Regulation Act Amendment Act, 1891,” “The Post and Telegraph Department Act, 1894,” “The Electric Lines Act, 1884,” “The Post Office Act, 1900,” “The Post and Telegraph Department Act, 1902,” and “The Post Office Act Amendment Act, 1906,” for the purposes of the classification and regulation of the Post and Telegraph Department of the Civil Service, and it is expedient to amend such regulations in the manner hereinafter set forth:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the authority vested in him by “The Post and Telegraph Classification and Regulation Act, 1890,” “The Post and Telegraph Classification and Regulation Act Amendment Act, 1891,” and “The Post and Telegraph Department Act, 1894,” and of all other authorities in that behalf enabling him, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the regulation numbered forty-seven in the Schedule to the aforementioned Order in Council, and in lieu thereof doth hereby make the regulation set forth in the Schedule hereto, and doth declare that such regulation shall be read as part of the regulations first hereinafter mentioned, and shall have effect on and after the date of publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

  1. Cadets or officers in the Sixth Class who may pass and officers in the Second Grade of the Fifth Class who have passed the Senior Examination (excluding the Matriculation Examination) shall be granted a double increment: Provided that the conduct of any such officer has been satisfactory and he is otherwise favourably reported upon for promotion.

Varying Close Season for Mullet in North Island.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-ninth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 67, of the first day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seven, regulations were made prescribing a close season for the species of Mugil known as mullet or kanae in the North Island of New Zealand:

And whereas by Order in Council dated the twenty-fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and seven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 101, of the twenty-eighth day of the same month, such close season was varied by excluding a certain area at the Thames from its operation:

And whereas it is desirable to further vary such close season to provide that it shall not operate within the limits set forth in the following regulation:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by “The Sea-fisheries Act, 1894,” doth hereby make the following regulation by way of further amendment of the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council of the twenty-ninth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seven, and of the regulation made thereby:—

REGULATION.

The close season for the species of Mugil known as mullet or kanae in the North Island of New Zealand, which was prescribed by regulations made by Order in Council dated the 29th day of July, 1907, shall not operate or have effect in the waters of the Dominion as defined by the said Act on the west coast of the North Island between Cape Terawhiti and Cape Maria van Diemen.

Hautapu Drainage District, County of Waikato, constituted.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of December, 1907.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, K.C.M.G., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of the third section of “The Land Drainage Act, 1904,” a majority of the ratepayers in the area of land described in the Schedule hereto, situated in the County of Waikato, have presented a petition to His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, praying that the said area be constituted a drainage district under the provisions of the said Act:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in the third section of “The Land Drainage Act, 1904,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby constitute and declare the area of land described in the Schedule hereto to be a district for the purposes of Part I of the said Act, and to be called by the name of the “Hautapu Drainage District”; and also, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority contained in the fourth section of the said Act, doth hereby declare that the Board of Trustees for the said district shall consist of seven persons, to be elected as members of the said Board under and in accordance with the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

HAUTAPU DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

All that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north-east generally by the railway-line from the junction of roads in Section No. 45, Tamahere Parish, to the north-western boundary of Section No. 48; thence by the road forming part of the north-western boundary of the last-mentioned section and forming the north-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 47 and 84, the road forming the north-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section, and by the Fencourt Land Drainage District to the western boundary of Piako County; thence by Piako County to the easternmost corner of Section No. 286, Hautapu Parish; thence towards the east by the road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 286, 285, 284, and 278; thence towards the south generally by the road forming the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 239, 238, 237, 236, 235, 234, 233, 232, 231, and 230, Hautapu Parish, and by the Borough of Cambridge to the railway-line; thence towards the south-west by the railway-line to Hautapu Railway-station; thence by the road forming the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 27, 28, 29, and 30, Hautapu Parish, the road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 69 and 70; thence by the last-mentioned section, Section No. 71, the road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 65, 64, and 63, Hautapu Parish, and the road forming the northern boundary of the last-mentioned section to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 78, Tamahere Parish; thence by the last-mentioned section to the Mangaone Stream; thence by that stream to the eastern boundary of the southern part of Section No. 76, Tamahere Parish; thence by the said southern part of Section No. 76 to the road intersecting that section; thence by that road and the road forming the southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 73, 74, 75, and intersecting Section No. 71, by the road forming part of the western boundary of the last-mentioned section, intersecting Section No. 70, and forming the south-western boundary of Section No. 68, Tamahere Parish; and thence towards the north-west by the road forming part of the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 44 and intersecting Section No. 45, Tamahere Parish, to the railway-line, the place of commencement.
