Petition for Incorporation by the Owners of the Motu Nos. 2b4, 2b5, and 2b6 Blocks.

IN THE NATIVE LAND COURT OF NEW ZEALAND, GISBORNE DISTRICT.

In the matter of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” and its amendments, and of the petition for incorporation by the owners of the Motu Nos. 2b4, 2b5, and 2b6 Blocks. At a sitting of the Court held at Gisborne, before Robert Noble Jones, Judge, and Hapi Kiniha, Assessor, on Tuesday, the 12th day of November, 1907.

UPON reading the petition for incorporation lodged herein, and upon hearing the petitioners, and the evidence adduced on their behalf, and the Court being satisfied of the consent of the majority of the respective owners of the said Motu Nos. 2b4, 2b5, and 2b6 Blocks respectively, and that such blocks, being adjoining, can be dealt with to the advantage of the owners thereof by being incorporated as hereinafter appearing, it is ordered that the owners whose names are set out in the Schedule hereunder written shall be and the same are hereby constituted a body corporate within the meaning of section 122 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” by the name of “The Proprietors of the Motu Nos. 2b4, 2b5, and 2b6 Blocks,” subject to the powers, liabilities, and incidents conferred or imposed by the said Act or any amendments thereof. The said land contains 1,258 acres and 27 perches, or thereabouts, and is bounded as follows: Towards the north by the Motu No. 1 Block, towards the east by the Motu No. 2b3 Block, towards the south by the Motu No. 2a Block, and towards the west by Native land.

And it is hereby ordered and directed that a general meeting of the proprietors of the said blocks shall be held at the Native Land Court House, Gisborne, on Tuesday, the 17th day of December, 1907, at the hour of 12 o’clock noon, for the purpose of nominating a committee to administer the said lands, and fixing the number of its members.

And it is hereby further ordered that the committee shall have full power to defray the reasonable costs and expenses consequent upon this incorporation or incidental thereto, and that the title to the said land hereby vested in the corporate body above named shall be subject to all existing rights, alienations, encumbrances, and contracts affecting the same or any interest therein.
