Borough Council has certified that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in the borough:
Now, therefore, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of Labour, in pursuance of section 21 of “The Shops and Offices Act, 1904,” and section 5 of “The Shops and Offices Act Amendment Act, 1905,” do hereby direct that from and after the 4th day of February, 1907, all the shops in the Borough of Foxton shall be closed accordingly, at 6 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, at 10 p.m. on Saturdays, and at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays (the weekly half-holiday).

Authorising the Laying-off of certain Streets in the Township of Pahiatua Extension South of a Width of not less than 66 ft. each.

IN pursuance of the power and authority conferred upon me by section 2 of “The Towns Main Streets Act, 1902,” I, Robert McNab, Minister of Lands, do hereby authorise the laying-off of Gordon Street, Bowen Street, Glasgow Street, Onslow Street, and Jervois Street, in the Township of Pahiatua Extension South, Wellington Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. each, instead of 99 ft. as prescribed by section 17 of “The Land Act, 1892.”

PURSUANT to the provisions of “The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900,” and its amendments, I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land, being the land known as the Huinga Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Acts, is subject to the said Acts.
SCHEDULE.
HUINGA SETTLEMENT.
ALL that parcel of land in the Taranaki District, containing by admeasurement 1,911 acres 2 roods 4 perches, more or less, being part of Toko A and part of Toko B Blocks, Ngaiere VIII, and Omona V Survey Districts, and Section 6, Block V, Omona Survey District. Bounded on the north and north-west generally by other parts of Toko A and Toko B Blocks, by the Makuri Stream, Toko Road, and Railway Reserve; towards the east by the Mangaehu Road and other part of Toko B Block; and on the south and south-west by the Mangaehu Stream to its junction with the Patea River, and thence by the said Patea River to the starting-point: as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan numbered L. and S. 19367, deposited in the Head Office of the Lands and Survey Department, at Wellington, and thereon edged with red.

Requisition as to taking Land compulsorily under “The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900,” and its Amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, on behalf of His Majesty, to take compulsorily, under the provisions of “The Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900,” and its amendments, the land the acreage, description, and classification of which, as also the names and addresses of the owners of such land, are specified in the Schedule hereto; and every owner of the land, and also every other person having any estate or interest therein, is hereby required to serve their respective claims for compensation on the Minister of Lands, in the form and manner and within the period provided by the said Acts.
SCHEDULE.
TE ARAI ESTATE.
ACREAGE and Description.—All that parcel of land, containing 10,691 acres 3 roods 2 perches, more or less, being Te Arai No. 2 and Pukewhinanu Blocks, and Sections 1 to 9 inclusive of Tapatohe Block, situated in Patutahi Survey District, Hawke’s Bay Land District, and known as the Te Arai Estate.
The Minister’s Classification of the Land.—2,488 acres first class and 8,203 acres 3 roods 2 perches third class.
The land intended to be taken is the whole of the owner’s interest in the above-mentioned area.
The registered owner is Mr. George Randall Johnson, of Feniton Court, Honiton, England, in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
The registered owner of a lesser interest is Mr. John Clarke, of Te Arai, New Zealand, settler, a lessee.
