All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being Section No. 5, Block VII, Retaruke Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east and south-east by Section No. 1, Block VIII, Retaruke Survey District; towards the south-west by Mangaohutu Road; and towards the north-west by Section No. 1, Block VII, in the aforesaid district: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56524, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured purple. For a site for a public school.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 11 acres 1 rod 39 perches, more or less, being Section No. 7, Block VII, Retaruke Survey District. Bounded towards the north and east generally by Section No. 4 of the said block; and towards the north-west by a public domain: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56523, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. For the preservation of scenery.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 13 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section No. 5, Block VIII, Retaruke Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 2 of the said block; towards the east generally by the Mangaorakei Stream; and towards the south-west and west generally by Section No. 4 of the said block: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56537, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. Bounded towards the north, east, and south by the Kaitieke-Tawata Road; and towards the west by Section No. 3, Block VIII, Retaruke Survey District: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56540, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For gravel purposes.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 12 acres, more or less, being Section No. 7, Block VIII, Retaruke Survey District. Bounded towards the north, east, and south generally by the Kaitieke-Tawata Road; and towards the west by part of Section No. 4, Block XII, Retaruke Survey District: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56539, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For gravel purposes.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 1 rod 37 perches, more or less, being Section No. 8, Block VIII, Retaruke Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 1 of the said block; and towards the east and west generally by the Mangaohutu Road: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56521, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 2 of the said block; and towards the east, south, and west generally by the Retaruke River bank reserve, 100 links wide: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56536, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 11 acres 1 rod 5 perches, more or less, being Section No. 2, Block XII, Retaruke Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by the Kaitieke-Tawata Road; towards the south-east by Section No. 4 of the said Block XII; and towards the south-west and west generally by Section No. 3, Block VIII, in the said district: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56535, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. Changing the Purpose of certain Reserves in the Wellington Land District.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power conferred by section twenty-six of “The Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1906,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby change the purpose of the reserve described in Part I of the Schedule hereto from a public domain to a cemetery-site as an addition to the Apiti Cemetery; and do also hereby change the purpose of the reserve described in Part II of the said Schedule from a cemetery-site to an addition to the Apiti Domain.

SCHEDULE.

PART I.

ALL that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Subdivision No. 1 of Section No. 41A, Block XI, Apiti Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 41B for 1107·6 links; towards the east by a public road 100 links wide for 353·3 links; towards the south by part of Section No. 41A for 1526·6 links; and towards the west by a public road 100 links wide for 474·5 links to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated upon the plan marked L. and S. 21434/19, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged pink.

PART II.

All that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 4 acres, more or less, being part of Section No. 51, Block XI, Apiti Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 20 for 500 links on a bearing of 42° 37′; towards the north-east by Section No. 20 for 600 links on a bearing of 132° 37′; towards the south-east by Section No. 51A for 250 links on a bearing of 222° 37′; again towards the north-east by Section No. 51A for 400 links on a bearing of 132° 37′; again towards the south-east by the Oroua Valley Road for 250 links on a bearing of 222° 37′; and towards the south-west by Subdivision No. 1, part of Section No. 19, for 1000 links on a bearing of 312° 37′ to the place of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 21434/19, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged green.

Removing Restrictions against Alienation of Native Land.

PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by section fourteen of “The Maori Land Laws Amendment Act, 1903,” it is enacted that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any Act, or in any Crown grant or other instrument of title, the Governor may, on the recommendation of the Board, remove any restriction on the alienation of land owned by Maoris: Provided that the decision of the Governor on any recommendation of the Board shall be given within six months from the date of the receipt of such recommendation:

And whereas the Aotea District Maori Land Board, by a recommendation made and passed by the said Board on the twenty-eighth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and six, and received on the twenty-second day of October, one thousand nine hundred and six, recommended the Governor to remove and revoke the restrictions against alienation contained in the instrument of title of the block of land known as Section 3 of Subdivision 23 of part of Sections 7 and 8 of Block XI, Belmont, so far as to permit the said land to be sold:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon and vested in me by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities me thereunto enabling, and in accordance with the recommendation of the Aotea District Maori Land Board aforesaid, do hereby remove and revoke the restrictions now existing against the alienation of the land particularised and set out in the Schedule hereto, so far as to
