Rural Lands in Southland Land District open for Selection on Lease in Perpetuity.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on and after the twentieth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and seven; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may be selected on lease in perpetuity only, in accordance with the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-one of the said Act, as they contain, or are supposed to contain, metals, minerals, or valuable stone; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Land temporarily reserved in the Marlborough Land District.

WHEREAS by the two-hundred-and-thirty-fifth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Marlborough Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purpose in the said Schedule specified at the end of the description of the land so intended to be temporarily reserved.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 10·5 perches, more or less, being Section No. 10, Block XI, Puhipuhi Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Small Grazing-run No. 111, 80 links; towards the south-east by said Small Grazing-run No. 111, 82·8 links; towards the south-west by said Small Grazing-run No. 111, 80 links; and towards the north-west by said Small Grazing-run No. 111, 82·8 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 21195/296, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For a site for a late settler’s grave.

Bounded towards the north-east by Piwakawaka Street; towards the south-east by Weber Road; towards the south-west by Section No. 16 of the said Block VII; and towards the north-west by Section No. 13, Block VII aforesaid: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56511, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For police-station purposes.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 roods, more or less, being Section No. 11, Block VIII, Huangarua Survey District (Mahupuku Settlement). Bounded towards the north-west and north-east by Section No. 9 of the said block, and towards the east and south-east generally by the Wangaehu Valley Road: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56578, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured blue. For gravel purposes.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 43 acres and 16 perches, more or less, being Section No. 2, Block I, Kaitieke Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 1 of the said block; towards the south-east by Section No. 1 of Block V in the said district; and towards the west generally by the Mangaorakei Stream: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56520, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. For the preservation of scenery.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 23 acres and 17 perches, more or less, being Section No. 3, Block I, Kaitieke Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west and north-east by Section No. 4 of the said block; towards the south-east by Section No. 1 of the said block; and towards the west by Section No. 6, Block IV, Retaruke Survey District: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56519, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. For the preservation of scenery.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 26 acres and 15 perches, more or less, being Section No. 3, Block IV, Retaruke Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east and east by Section No. 5 of the said block; towards the south-west by Section No. 1 of the said block; and towards the north-west by a public domain: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56522, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. For the preservation of scenery.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 14 acres 3 roods 28 perches, more or less, being Section No. 7, Block IV, Retaruke Survey District. Bounded towards the north generally by the Kokakonui Stream; towards the north-east by the said stream, and a tributary thereof; towards the south generally by the Kokakonui Road; and towards the west generally by the said Kokakonui Stream, and a tributary thereof: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 56517, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured purple. For a site for a public school.
