Proposed Boundaries of the Electoral Districts in the North Island of New Zealand.

THE North Island Representation Commission, appointed under “The Electoral Act, 1905” in pursuance of section 10 of the said Act hereby publishes for general information the following proposed boundaries of the electoral districts in the North Island; and further gives notice that written objections to the same will be received by the undersigned, the Chairman of the said Commission, at the office of the Surveyor-General, Wellington, not later than noon of Wednesday, the 16th day of January, 1907.

Maps of the proposed districts may be seen at the offices of the several local bodies in the said North Island; of the Chief Surveyors at Auckland, New Plymouth, Napier, and Wellington; of the Chief Electoral Officer at Wellington; and of the several Registrars of Electors throughout the North Island aforesaid.

Such objections as may be lodged will be considered by the Commission on Thursday, the 17th day of January, 1907, at 2.30 p.m. o’clock, at the Parliamentary Buildings, Wellington.

NORTH ISLAND ELECTORAL DISTRICTS.

BAY OF ISLANDS.

Bay of Islands District comprises the Counties of Mangonui, Whangaroa, Hokianga, and Bay of Islands, together with the Otonga Riding of Whangarei County, the northern portion of Hikurangi Riding lying north-westward of the Whakapara River, that portion of the Wairua Riding lying northwards of the Wairua River, and also that portion of the Maunu Riding lying northward of the Wairua River.

MARSden.

Marsden District comprises the existing Marsden Electoral District, less those portions of the Wairua and Maunu Ridings of Whangarei County lying to the north of the Wairua River, and less the Mahurangi Riding of Rodney County, and those parts of Warkworth and Kaipara Ridings included in the said existing Marsden District, and also excluding the Mahurangi East Road District of Rodney County. This district includes Moko Hinou Island.

KAIPARA.

Kaipara District comprises the existing Kaipara Electoral District, less the Waipoua Riding of Hokianga County, and including that portion of the Kumeu Riding o. Waitemata County lying westward of the railway-line from the Kaipara River to the Kumeu River, and north of the Mokoroa River.

WAITEMATA.

Waitemata District comprises the existing Waitemata Electoral District, together with the Mahurangi Riding of Rodney County, the whole of Warkworth Riding, and also the Mahurangi East Road District of the said Rodney County, and excluding that part of Kumeu Riding of Waitemata County lying to the westward of the railway-line from the Kaipara River to the Kumeu River, and north of the Mokoroa River, and also excluding that portion of Waitakerei Riding lying southward and westward of the road running westward from the Waitemata Harbour near Lawson’s Creek and fronting Sections Nos. 37, 38, 45, 44, 58, and 60, Parish of Waipareira. This district includes the following islands: Great and Little Barrier, Kawau, Motuhora, Tiritiri, Bean Rock, Rangiahua.

AUCKLAND EAST.

Auckland East District comprises that part of the City of Auckland lying east of Queen Street, Karangahape Road, and the Great North Road, together with that portion of the Epsom Road District of Eden County, west of Almorah Road, and that portion of the Borough of Mount Eden north of the road forming the northern boundary of Mount Eden Reserve, and thence along the northern part of Mount Eden Road and the railway-line to the city boundary.

AUCKLAND CENTRAL.

Auckland Central District comprises that part of the City of Auckland bounded on the north by Waitemata Harbour, on the east by Queen Street, Karangahape Road, and the Great North Road to Pollen Street; on the south by Pollen Street to Williamson Avenue; on the west by Williamson Avenue, Hepburn Street, Napier Street, across Franklin Road, along Middle Street, Cascade Street, and College Road to Patteson Street; thence along Patteson Street to the eastern boundary of Section No. 16, in Victoria Park; thence by the eastern boundary of that section and its production across Victoria Park to Waitemata Harbour.

AUCKLAND WEST.

Auckland West District comprises the western part of the City of Auckland lying west of Hepburn Street, Napier Street, across Franklin Road, along Middle Street, Cascade Street, and College Road to Patteson Street; thence along Patteson Street to the eastern boundary of Section No. 16, in Victoria Park; thence along the eastern boundary of that section and its production across Victoria Park to Waitemata Harbour.

GREY LYNN.

Grey Lynn comprises the Borough of Grey Lynn, less the portion lying east of Williamson Avenue and north of Pollen Street, and includes the whole of the Arch Hill and Eden Terrace Road Districts of Eden County, together with that portion of Mount Albert Road District of Eden County lying north of the Western Springs Road, New North Road, and Onslow Road, and that portion of the Borough of Mount Eden bounded by a line along the railway-line from Eden Terrace Road District to Mount Eden Road; thence by Mount Eden Road to the Terrace east of View Road; thence by the Terrace to Sherburn Road, by Sherburn Road to Valley Road, by Valley Road to Mount Roskill Road, by Mount Roskill Road to Onslow Road, by Onslow Road to the western boundary of the Borough of Mount Eden; and thence along the western and north-western boundaries of the Borough of Mount Eden to the railway-line.

EDEN.

Eden District comprises the Waikomiti Riding of Waitemata County, and that part of the Waitakerei Riding not included in the Waitemata District hereinbefore described, together with the Avondale and Point Chevalier Road Districts of Eden County, and Mount Albert Road District, less that portion lying north of the Western Springs Road, New North Road, and Onslow Road; and includes that portion of Mount Roskill Road District lying north of Mount Albert Road and west of Buckland Road; the Epsom Road District, less the part lying west of Almorah Road; the northern portion of One-tree Hill Road District lying north of Market Road; and also the Borough of Mount Eden, less the northern portion included in the Auckland East and Grey Lynn Districts hereinbefore described.

PARNELL.

Parnell District comprises the existing Parnell Electoral District, together with that portion of One-tree Hill Road District of Eden County which lies between Market Road and the road which runs south-westerly from the Great South Road at the Harp of Erin Hotel to the Royal Oak Hotel.

MANUKAU.

Manukau District comprises the Mount Roskill Road District of Eden County, less the portion lying north of Albert Road, and west of Buckland Road; and includes those portions of One-tree Hill and Mount Wellington Road Districts in the existing Manukau Electoral District; also the Borough of Onehunga; together with the Otahuhu and Howick Ridings of Manukau County, the Drury and Papakura Road Districts, and the Papakura Town District in the Papakura Riding, and that part of the Wairoa
