Maria van Diemen to the western boundary of the Waiapu County; thence towards the south-east generally by the Waiapu, Cook, and Wairoa Counties to the 39th parallel of south latitude; thence towards the south by the 39th parallel of such latitude to the Wanganui River; thence towards the south-east generally by the Wellington Land District to the ocean at the mouth of the Patea River; and thence towards the south-west and west generally by the ocean to Cape Maria van Diemen, the place of commencement.

Gisborne District.

All that portion of the Colony of New Zealand bounded towards the north generally by the ocean from the western boundary of the Waiapu County to East Cape; thence towards the south-east generally by the ocean to the 39th parallel of south latitude; thence towards the south by the 39th parallel of south latitude to the western boundary of the Wairoa County; and thence towards the south-west and north-west generally by the Northern District hereinbefore described to the ocean at the western boundary of the Waiapu County, the place of commencement.

Excepting Land from the Operation of Section 117 of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894.”


PLUNKET, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of November, 1906.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by section four of “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1895,” it is enacted that the Governor may, by Order in Council, except from the operation of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894” (hereinafter called “the said Act”), for a limited period or otherwise, and either generally or for such purposes and subject to such restrictions as shall be in such Order specified, any land, wheresoever situate, which is for the time being subject to the operation of the said section, or any interest therein or right over the same, or may in like manner make such exception in favour exclusively of any lessee or other person who has been bond fide in occupation of and has made improvements on such land, or has paid money to Native owners for lease or purchase thereof, prior to the passing of the said Act: Provided that no Order in Council under the provisions of this section shall take effect until after the expiration of two months from the date of the publication thereof in the Gazette: Provided also that every alienation under the provisions of this section shall be confirmed by the Court in terms of section fifty-three of the said Act:

And whereas the Maniapoto-Tuwharetoa District Maori Land Board, by a recommendation made on the fourth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and six, and received on the eighteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and six, has recommended the Governor to except from the operation of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” for the purpose of alienation by way of sale, the block or parcel of land, containing one rood twenty-four perches, more or less, being Section 1 of Block VII, Otorohanga Native Township:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section four of “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1895,” and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby except from the operation of section one hundred and seventeen of “The Native Land Court Act, 1894,” for the purpose of alienation by way of sale, the block or parcel of land, situate in the Otorohanga Native Township, containing one rood twenty-four perches, more or less, being Section 1 of Block VII on the plan of the said township, and being part of the land known as Orahiri V. 1, comprised in a partition order of the Native Land Court dated the third day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine, in favour of Wipa te Wharaunga.

Recreation Reserve in Nelson Land District brought under “The Public Domains Act, 1881.”


PLUNKET, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of November, 1906.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for recreation in the Nelson Land District described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881”; and such reserve shall hereafter be known as Blackwater Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.


SCHEDULE.

BLACKWATER DOMAIN.

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 3 roods, more or less, being Section No. 14, Block XII, Mawhera-iti Survey District. Bounded by a line commencing at a point (the said point being distant 43094·9 links north and 90164·2 links east of Initial Trig. Station, situated at the south-west corner of Mawhera-iti Survey District), and proceeding in a north-westerly direction, bearing N. 26° 57′ 30″ W., a distance of 916·1 links; thence along a line in a north-easterly direction, bearing N. 70° 24′ E., a distance of 795·8 links, to the Blackwater Road; thence south-easterly along the southern side of the said road, a distance of 813·3 links, to a point bearing N. 61° 01′ E. from the commencing-point; and thence by a right line for a distance of 1027·3 links to the point of commencement: exclusive of Blackwater Creek, which intersects the above-described area: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 55376/3, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of November, 1906.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for a public domain in the Canterbury Land District described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of “The Public Domains Act, 1881”; and such reserve shall hereafter form part of South Rakaia Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 101 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 2537, situated in Block XIII, Rakaia Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by the terrace of the Rakaia River, and by Section No. 30133; towards the south-east by the south Rakaia Township; towards the south-west by Normanby Road; and towards the north-west by Wolseley Road: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 25681, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
