Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Reserve in
the Auckland Land District.
PLUNKET, Governor.
WHEREAS by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” it is,
amongst other things, enacted that the Governor
may declare his intention to change or alter the dedication
of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in His Majesty
or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II
of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted
or not; and if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be
expedient to change the purpose of such reserve or any part
thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it
was set apart to any other purpose, the Governor may, by
notice gazetted, declare his intention to make such change,
and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which
the same is intended to be so made:
Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in
exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” aforesaid, de-
clare my intention to change the specific purpose of the
reserve described in the first column of the Schedule hereto
from that named therein to that named in the second
column thereof.

other portion of Section No. 7 aforesaid and
other portion of said Section No. 6, 175 links;
and towards the north-west by other portion
of Section No. 6 aforesaid, 100 links: be all
the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the
same is delineated on the plan marked S.G.
55416, deposited in the Head Office, Depart-
ment of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon
coloured red. Reserved for a public-hall site
in New Zealand Gazette No. 47, of the 15th

Rural Land in Nelson Land District open for Selection on
Lease in Perpetuity.
PLUNKET, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth
section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, William Lee, Baron
Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
having received the report of the Surveyor-General in
this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby
declare that the rural land described in the Schedule hereto
shall be open for selection on and after the thirtieth day
of January, one thousand nine hundred and seven; and
also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may be
selected on lease in perpetuity only, in accordance with the
provisions of section one hundred and twenty-one of the
said Act, as it contains, or is supposed to contain, metals,
minerals, or valuable stone; and I do hereby also fix the
price at which the said land shall be leased, as mentioned
in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land
shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of “The
Land Act, 1892.”

Weighted with £167 10s., valuation for improvements
—house, hut, shed, fencing, orchard, 10 acres felled and
grassed, and 2 acres ploughed.
Altitude, about 600 ft. above the sea. Fair to good flat
land; light bush of white- and silver- and some brown-birch
of no commercial value; watered by the Devil’s Creek and
some small streams from the hills. Access generally by
railway and main road, and distant about one mile from
Reefton Railway-station and two miles and a half from
Reefton Post-office.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of November, one thousand
nine hundred and six.
