vehicle, or does not leave a reasonable portion of
the road for any vehicle, person, or animal pass-
ing him;

(n.) Impedes the traffic or endangers the safety of pas-
sengers by a load unduly projecting from the side
of any vehicle or beast of burden;

(o.) Drives any vehicle along any street or road without
proper and sufficient lights after sunset and before
sunrise. (Proper and sufficient lights shall mean
a clear white light so placed on the right or off
side as to be plainly visible to any person meet-
ing, and a bright red light so placed as to be
plainly visible to any person overtaking.)

(p.) Owns any cattle found at large without proper
guidance, or any cattle herded or grazed upon the
road other than in the ordinary course of driving
stock;

(q.) Drives any vehicle so that one or more of its wheels
shall be in any water-table, or so as to damage
any water-table.

  1. No person shall conduct any scoria, boulders, stone, or
    ash, or any road-metal or soil, over or upon the road known
    as Richardson Road unless the cost, as estimated by the
    Mount Albert Road Board, of reinstating the road is pre-
    viously paid to the said Board. Every person who commits
    a breach of this by-law is liable to a fine not exceeding
    twenty pounds.

Adopted by the Mount Albert Road Board at a meeting
held on the 1st October, 1906, and confirmed by special order
at a meeting held on the 5th November, 1906.

I, Henry Charles Haselden, Clerk to the Mount Albert
Road Board, do hereby certify that the foregoing Mount
Albert District By-law No. 4 (Offences on Roads) was made
by the Mount Albert Road Board by special order in accord-
ance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,”
“The Public Works Act, 1905,” and of “The Counties Act,
1886,” and all and any amendments thereto.

THAT on and after the 1st day of December, 1906, the Road
Board of the Waitoa Road District shall be dissolved, and
such road district merged in the Piako County.

THE following special order, made by the Rangitikei
County Council, is published in accordance with the
provisions of “The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.”

RANGITIKEI COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order making Special Rate. — Loan of £300.—
Kaweka Road.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by “The Counties Act, 1886,” and “The
Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” the Rangitikei County
Council doth hereby resolve as follows: That, for the
purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a
loan of £300, authorised to be raised by the Rangitikei
County Council, under the provisions of “The Local
Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” for the purpose of widening,
culverting, and forming on about two miles and a half
of the Kaweka Road, commencing at its junction with
the Te Kapua Road, and proceeding in a northerly direc-
tion, and the cost of raising the loan to be paid out of
the moneys to be borrowed, the said Rangitikei County
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in
the pound sterling upon the rateable valuation of all rateable
property of the Kaweka Special-rating District, comprising
Sections 26 and 27, in Block IV, and Sections 23 and
part 24 (184 acres), in Block VIII, Tiriraukawa Survey
District; Section 1, Block I, and Sections 13, part 14
(282 acres), and part 15 (149 acres), in Block V, Hautapu
Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an
annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and
be payable in one sum on the 1st day of May in each
and every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of forty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off,
the interest on such loan being at the rate of 4 per cent.
per annum.

I, Reginald Edward Beckett, Chairman of the Rangitikei
County Council, do hereby certify that the above special
order was duly made and passed at a special meeting of
the Rangitikei County Council held on the 6th day of
October, 1906, and was duly confirmed at a special meeting
of the said Rangitikei County Council held on the 3rd day
of November, 1906.

In testimony whereof the common seal of the Rangitikei
County Council has been hereunto affixed.

Special Order.—Waterworks Debenture Loan, £7,500, No. 1,
1896.—Repayment Loan, 1906.

Public notice is hereby given that at a special meeting of
the Dannevirke Borough Council held on the 2nd day of
October, 1906, it was resolved,—

That the Dannevirke Borough Council doth hereby, in
pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by “The
Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” “The Local Bodies’
Loans Act, 1901,” and their amendments, and all other
Acts and powers (if any) enabling it in that behalf, resolve
(by special order) to borrow the sum of £7,500 for the pur-
pose of paying off a loan of £7,500 borrowed under the pro-
visions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1886,” for
water-supply purposes and payable on the 1st day of Novem-
ber, 1906.

Public notice is hereby given that at a special meeting
of the Dannevirke Borough Council held on the 2nd day of
October, 1906, it was resolved,—

That the special rate made and levied in June, 1906, for
the purpose of a security for the payment of interest and
other charges on a loan of £7,500 is hereby confirmed, so
that a special rate of 1s. in the pound on the basis of the
annual value of the Borough of Dannevirke shall be here-
after leviable: and the Dannevirke Borough Council doth,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by
“The Municipal Corporations Act, 1900,” “The Local
Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901,” and their amendments, and all
other Acts and powers (if any) enabling it in that behalf,
