Rural Lands in Auckland Land District open for Sale or Selection.


PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-thirty-sixth section of “The Land Act, 1892,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, having received the report of the Surveyor-General in this behalf, as in the said section is provided, do hereby declare that the rural lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on and after the nineteenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and six; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase or on lease in perpetuity, or, in respect of any land containing or supposed to contain any metal, mineral, or valuable stone, be selected on lease in perpetuity only; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of “The Land Act, 1892.”

Altitude, from 200 ft. to 300 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to broken land, covered with fern and scrub; inferior soil, on pipe-clay formation; fairly well watered by springs. Situated about three miles from Awanui and Kaitaia.

Altitude, from 250 ft. to 680 ft. above sea-level. Undulating and broken land; about 100 acres ploughable; 150 acres mixed forest, containing sufficient puriri for fencing; soil fairly good; well watered by small streams. Situated about nine miles by road from Ohiwa Wharf and about two miles from Kutarere Landing.

Trustees for the Mohaka Public Cemetery appointed.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto to be Trustees to provide for the maintenance and care of the public cemetery specified in the second column of the said Schedule.

All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres, more or less, being Lot No. 1, Block V, Mohaka Crown Grant District (Block XIII, Waihua Survey District). Bounded towards the north by other portion of the said Block V, 406 links; towards the east by the Mohaka River; towards the south by other portion of the said Block V, 890 links; and towards the west by a public road, 1007·5 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 50898a, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this ninth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and six.
