Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Reserve in the Auckland Land District.


PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to change or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in His Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not; and if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserve or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, the Governor may, by notice gazetted, declare his intention to make such change, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” aforesaid, declare my intention to change the specific purpose of the reserve described in the first column of the Schedule hereto from that named therein to that named in the second column thereof.


SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Original Reserve. Intended Purpose.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 28 perches, more or less, being portion of Section No. 6 and portion of Section No. 7, Block IX, Omapere Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by a public road, 175 links; towards the south-east by other portion of said Section No. 7, 100 links; towards the south-west by other portion of Section No. 7 aforesaid and other portion of said Section No. 6, 175 links; and towards the north-west by other portion of Section No. 6 aforesaid, 100 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 55416, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red. Reserved for a public-hall site in New Zealand Gazette No. 47, of the 15th June, 1893. Site for a mechanics’ institute and athenæum.

Reserved for General Government purposes in Canterbury Provincial Gazette of 20th May, 1875. Acclimatisation.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-sixth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and six.

Changing the Purpose of a Portion of a Reserve in the Southland Land District.


PLUNKET, Governor.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of a reserve heretofore duly set apart for Government buildings, being a reserve within Class II of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” and such land has not been vested in trust in any society, body corporate, or trustees:

And whereas it is expedient that such land shall be appropriated for a site for a technical school, being a reserve within Class III of the aforesaid Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the second section of “The Public Reserves Act Amendment Act, 1889,” do by this notification declare that the said land shall, from and after the first day of November, one thousand nine hundred and six, be appropriated for a site for a technical school under Class III of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881”; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 24 perches, more or less, being Section No. 1, Block IIIA, Town of Gore. Bounded towards the north-east by Norfolk Street, 493·6 links; towards the south by Medway Street, 503·8 links; and towards the west by a public road, 270·8 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 52813/9, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-sixth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and six.

PLUNKET, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries Act, 1882,” I, William Lee, Baron Plunket, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

BENJAMIN CHARLES NEW

to be a Trustee, in the place of William Green Webb, deceased, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Arapohue Public Cemetery, in conjunction with the other persons previously appointed by His Excellency the Governor.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-sixth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and six.
