Native Lands proposed to be taken for a Road in Pakanae No. 4 and Whirinaki No. 5 Blocks, Blocks VI, Hokianga, and V, Waoku Survey Districts.

PLUNKET, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifteenth day of October, 1906.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken for a public work, to wit, for the purpose of a road in Pakanae No. 4 and Whirinaki No. 5 Blocks, in Blocks VI, Hokianga, and V, Waoku Survey Districts :

And whereas the said lands are held or occupied by Native owners under a title which is not derived from the Crown :

And whereas a map in duplicate has been prepared of the said lands, as required by the eighty-ninth section of “ The Public Works Act, 1905 ” :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by the eighty-ninth section of the said Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby declare that the lands shown upon such map, and described in the Schedule hereto, shall be deemed to be taken for the purpose of the said road, and the said road shall vest in His Majesty the King as from the twenty-second day of November, one thousand nine hundred and six.

Fixing Date of Payment of Land-tax for 1906–7.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of October, 1906.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority vested in him under “ The Land and Income Assessment Act, 1900,” and “ The Land Tax and Income Tax Act, 1906,” His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and determine that the respective duties leviable under the said Acts by way of land-tax and of further graduated land-tax shall be paid in one sum on Friday, the 30th day of November, one thousand nine hundred and six :

And in further pursuance and exercise of the powers and authority aforesaid, and with the like advice and consent as aforesaid, His Excellency doth also determine that the place where the said duties of land-tax shall be payable shall be the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, at the Government Buildings, Wellington, and that notice to the foregoing effect shall be given by the said Commissioner accordingly.

Exempting Harley Terrace, Stoke, Waimea District, from the Provisions of Section 117 of “ The Public Works Act, 1905.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of October, 1906.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and seventeen of “ The Public Works Act, 1905,” it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of a road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor in Council :

And whereas on the seventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and six, the Stoke Road Board, the local authority having control of the road known as Harley Terrace (being the road described in the Schedule hereto), did by resolution declare that the provisions of the said section should not apply to the said road : And whereas such resolution was in the following terms : “ That the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of ‘ The Public Works Act, 1905,’ requiring the widening of a road when it is of less width than sixty-six feet shall not apply to Harley Terrace Road, fronting Cecil D. Beatson’s property, being part of Section 80, Block III, Waimea ” :

And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved :
